Re: New builder on Vancouver Island

I thought I would point out that John indicated to me that they are only building blanks right now. In other words the owner of these two (a fishing charter company) did all the rigging and interior seating etc.that you can see in some of the photos on his site. Basically he is welding up the hull a...

Re: New builder on Vancouver Island

Here are some pic's I took while down there checking her out. Just look at the difference in the hull design compared to that Thunderjet TJ offshore. This is a real offshore hull. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii297/Coal_miner/Cope/IMG_3992_zpsfbfe6ab4.jpg Side shot. http://i267.photobucket.com...

New builder on Vancouver Island

Here's a new one to add to the master builders list Chaps. http://www.aegirboats.com/ This guy just started up last year and has build two of the Bruce Cope designed 26 walkarounds. He has a very experienced welder working with him. He used to work at Daigle welding and Wolf boats. This is the parti...

Re: Single Or Duals?????

I think for most use's a single is fine and make the most sense economically. I would agree with Dave on the seatow comment for sure. I'm not sure how far they will come out on WCVI but I would say if your fishing offshore say further than 20-25 miles than twins would be the way to go. I am like goa...

Re: The Journey Begins

That's what I'm talking about!!! Looks way better already John. 10' of deck space is awesome. Just do the rise in the middle of the cabin like the Hewescraft and be done with it. How much step down (if any) is there from the back deck to the cabin floor? Could you take a picture looking down on the ...

Re: Albacore Tuna tackle

I thought we should bring this one back to life. After being out 3 times in my own boat this year I think I have a basic spread down. First we deploy the Yo Zuro Dabo pins (the big orange thingy's). They sit about 25 feet back just inside of the rear cleats. Secondly we set out the handlines. They a...

A fellow AAB/BD Member Ken aka Flasher made the 2 decals and stopped yesterday and applied them. He and others have tried to change my Goatram handle with various names the last one is Goatkeeper. For some reason my OG name does not suit them. :deadhorse: I use that handle on every forum I am on. N...

Re: Bruce Cope has updated his website

I see on his website the pictures of kingfishers and coastal cruisers, did he disign those hulls? Yes he did. Those Coastal Craft's are probably one of the nicest alloy boats coming out of BC right now for cruising type folks. I like how he still designs boats for fisherman, lodges, and working cla...

Re: Bamfield Tuna Shootout

Pete a little under 1.3 miles a gallon at 35miles per hour on the Patience is a fantastic burn rate. A week ago gas was pushing over 5 dollars a gallon in my neck of the concrete woods. The Patience could do some serious damage to the Albacore out of BC/Washington. Sculpin Out of Bamfield is it a 4...

I love the lines of that skiff. I really like a nice up swept sheer line. Radar is a good thing IMO. I use mine all the time. You can look for flocks of birds in the distance, you can see groups of boats that may already be on a bait stop, or you can use it to see obstacles in the fog. Nothing and I...
