Re: I seem to be getting 4'itis
Welcome dennis  Congrats on the new Grandson. :highfive: There are few of the aluminum boats around here in Washington. Kinda the same weather in the summer but your winters are best kept in your neck of the woods. Boats with Forts are enjoyed year round here in the PNW. Winter time Blackmouth...

Currently Tapped out. Nice boat though. in it for another 60 to 70 thousand dollars and a few months work. Add another 10 to 15 Gs for the big trailer to hull the beast around. Chaps you will be required to build a bigger shed. In for the copper penny in for the Building. You can still convert to Ou...

No Bronze wool pads Should be Used. Red Scotch brite is course, green is medium, White is fine, This is what you should use to help clean. Kevin has also recommended heating the area prior to applying the acid. The Coarser you use requires more polishing to restore to a shine.. If you rubb for and a...

Thank you Goatram! When I first used the Sharkhide brand aluminum cleaner, I did not tape anything off as the owner said it would not effect the plastic decal above the metal that I was treating. Obviously the Zep-a-lume is much stronger so you are recommending taping off areas that I don't want th...

Your sides are not that bad. Pull the floors this winter and remove the foam. Then Wash the inside with the Acid as Kevin recommends as well as the outside. Use your PPE, If you work at Uncle Bills sign out a respirator then return it when your done, The Blue Green Gloves work well; use rubber bands...

They prepped the boat and started engines. % minutes the Starboard engine alarm sounds. The call me i tell them to check filters. No water. but they find the wate...

Re: Now he did it, the Goat is in the hospital
Bob Thanks for letting my other Favorite Forum know my status. It is true I was working in my yard pushing dirt over my retainer wall when I slipped and fell 6 to 8 ft. So far I spent 2 weeks at Harbor View Hospital in Seattle. I return this coming Tuesday for my next surgery. They will remove my 4 ...

Re: replacing springs, and flipping the axle
I have 3 Dexter 3500 lb Torsion Bar axles in the yard. Too bad ya don't live closer. Gypsea has a good Idea to see how much movement is at your springs and frame. A rubber dohiki between the frame and the axle might cushion the bumps a little. A torsion Axle bolts right to the frame and then you can...

Your crew will fall asleep fast. The bump and grind of a long trip will be softened by the Bags. I only got to sit in mine once. all the other times I am at the helm and some SOB else gets to sit in it.

Re: Is etching necessary on a new hull?
In the States it is required for boats 20' and under. I am completely comfortable not having Flotation on current boat and on my old 21' Northriver. If the Boat sinks I don't want her back.
