Re: My Search is over.....1860 SeaArk

I cut some more holes in the boat today. With those stupid "Stab In" lights that are always a PITA, I'm not putting up with that crap, so Shark Eyes are going in. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Warthog5/1860%20SeaArk/100_1723.jpg Riv-Nuts installed to accept a machine screw. http:/...

That is normally where the X-Shark sits. It's 12W X 40L X 14H.

I don't want to enclose it, as it creates a Vortex of air moving thru there.......Well Sometimes anyway. LOL

Re: My Search is over.....1860 SeaArk

Well as per usual...I can't leave it alone and put a saw to the boat today. Boat manufactures are notorious for being cheap. After all they do have bean counters working for them. This means that when it comes to installing rigging tubes, they either do not exist or are under size. I want the deck f...

Re: Adding a Zinc Anode

10-4 That piece of U-channel measures 4in wide and 3in tall. My plan was to drill a hole in it and mount a 3in Rudder zinc, half on the outside and half on the inside of the U channel.

Adding a Zinc Anode

In reference to this project: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1977

I added a bracket to bolt a Zinc anode to this hull on the Port side.

Can I just bolt a Rudder Zinc to it?

Will See? I got this boat so I can go places that I would not take a FRP boat. [Stumps,Oyster beds and rocks are areas that Flounder will lay] I'm thinking Awlgrip "Moon Dust" w/ flattening agent added to it. Think Desert Storm Tan. Got all 9 LED lights mounted on the trailer today. Here i...

Re: the cajun boat project "or equal"

keep in mind this boat has over a 9' 8 inch beam (something like that) she is a fishing machine I am a little disappointed in the MPG I hope it gets better with some tweaking Those 2 statements go hand in hand. It's the length to beam aspect ratio or in your case the lack of it due to having such a...

On a budget?

The best kick for the $ is Cad plated rotors and Stainless Calipers. Kodiak for sure.

That transom looks killer, is it welded all the way around? Yes....A lot of linear feet of welding. Well the diamond deck is cut and laying in the boat, but not fastened down yet. yes I think the corrosion was due to sitting around in a marina...Ya never know about stray current. Re: Rear floats added

Actually the Pods are added to Jon Boats from the factory on tunnel hull's and are added to a lot of guys boats that Bowfish. They actually sell them here: http://www.explorebeavertail.com/flotationpods.html You will then need a shop to weld them on. Installation Instructions. http://www.explorebeav...

My Search is over.....1860 SeaArk

I have been wanting a Big Jon Boat for a few years now. It needed to be high sided, a little V, wide body. It also needed to be able to fit in my garage where the 162 Scout is now. I found this SeaArk 1860 w/ a DF-70 Suzuki. I jumped on this boat pretty quick. I got a decent deal on it, but knew it ...

I contacted Innovative lighting the other day to buy another All round light that is in the pix above. They don't have anymore of them. Re: the cajun boat project "or equal"

Wow! Those are some Big Strakes in the middle. With them forming almost a hull on a hull. IE: They are sorta a 2nd Chine.

This should help the boat be real stable. It's almost like the Bass boats with a pad.

Re: Seawolf 31' Build

I have a question about the rub rails on the sides. First I like them very much. They are form & function, which is a win-win deal. The stiffness they add to the side panels is incredible. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk307/resdat/Seawolf%20Build%20Pics/PICT1013.jpg Now the question. I see...

Also what version GPS software are you running? BINGO! That is the most common problem. Upload the latest software version from Garmin. I too have a 2006C. I once lost all the buoys on the chart. A software upgrade brought them right back. Latest version is Ver. 5.80 as of May 10, 2007 https://buy....

Re: Extending my bottom

So I wouldn't suggest having the bracket extended full width from chine to chine because you might get that bow down stance. To add to that, there would be no place for the trim tabs. This is always something to take into consideration. I added Batwing style tabs [Bennett's] With a Batwing style th...
