Re: PNW Boat builders

Shark bait- excellent information. It would make sense to me that if you are going to tow your rig as far as you do over that type of terrain, it had better be a bullet proof set up. Yours certainly sounds like it is. That said, it is a wonder more people don't understand the necessities of having a...

Had to add this "Oh my gosh Becky" I found his links page. http://albacoreadventures.com/links Mark- I have already spoken with Bob about this beautiful boat. He has graciously offered to take my wife and I out to see how she rides when I re-deploy. Unfortunately (sigh) I think he is taki...

Re: PNW Boat builders

I hope you are finding the AAB forum helpful Shark bait- Thank you so much for the welcome and your insight! I will expand a little on my original post, and that should give everyone a pretty comprehensive idea of our vision. My wife and I are dive instructors part time at Underwater Sports in Olym...

Re: Alaska What a Country!!!!!

I'll download a few of my favorites in a bit after I reformat them. Thank you Mark for your warm welcome and including me like I was one of the guys! I must say that I belong to several other forums, (BD, THT) but this one sure makes me feel at home! I think I made a good choice! I have been diving...

Re: PNW Boat builders

Days like these make it all worth it! Pete, Thank you for your insight. I can't wait to hear back from Armstrong and see if they can put something together for us like Patience . I read through the thread about your trip this summer, and was spellbound. I have been in the Army too darn long (25year...

Re: PNW Boat builders

If I were to do it over again. I would think long and hard about having an Armstrong cat as my fishing, hunting, and family cruiser. spoiled one, I enjoyed your blog during the build. I would have to agree with many of the posts. Not only is "Patience" a great name, but you have more of i...

Re: PNW Boat builders

I am hoping I will be back by then. Right now it is looking like the 1st of Feb, so that doesn't give me a lot of time. I am hoping most of the manufacturers will be pretty flexible, and still have something available to sea trial. Is Glacier craft still taking orders? And do they usually take as lo...

Re: PNW Boat builders

When you get back to town you should come out for a spin on my boat. Bob, I would love too. It won't be till Feb, so I hope you don't mind going out in the cold! This is fun for me to live through you as you pick out your builder. SL Dave, that's the problem! There are so many to chose from!! We ha...

Re: Silver Streak

They are well made boats. Some do not have self-bailing decks. The builder doesn't always like it because it results in the deck being raised a couple of inches. In general I found the owner a little tough to deal with. Not a problem unless you're having a boat built. They do look like well made bo...

Re: PNW Boat builders

Thank you Chaps and welder! After doing quite a bit of reading on this forum, I am going to have to add Glacier Craft and Coldwater to the list. I have no idea why they haven't shown up in any of my searches. I/O is what I would prefer. As divers, a clean walk-through transom and a big, sturdy swim ...

PNW Boat builders

Hello all! I finally made the switch, and have decided to buy an aluminum hull. After many years of boating in plastic shells, we figured it was time to get something that would stand up to the PNW and the inside passage. We have narrowed our search down to three manufacturers; Norvelle, Seawolf, an...

Greetings all!

As if I can't belong to too many forums! I guess if I am going to buy an alloy hull, I should probably join an alloy forum! So many of the other sites, while sharing vast amounts of knowledge, don't know much about aluminum.
