Re: Boat sides: vertical or slanted?

Thank you, Kmorin. Very good info there!

So if Boat A is 28' long with a 7' chine, and Boat B is 28' long with an 8' chine, and both are powered equally and have the same deadrise, which boat will be the most fuel efficient? Which boat will ride more comfortable?

There are some boats with plumb sides bow to stern, others with some lean out at the bow and still others with a lean or 'fl...

Boat sides: vertical or slanted?

I've noticed some builders angle the sides of the boats out, while a few have vertical sides. What are the reasons for these differences? Pluses and minuses?

Re: Start of an electronics upgrade to the Sculpin

What transducer are you using with that HDS10? I just have the standard transom mount Lowrance right now. I have been toying with an Airmar or something different. Any suggestions? I have seen some shots of folks that have mounted better transducers like thru-hull type but in a bracket off of the t...

Re: Untraditional Radar Mount

Hey, thanks a lot! I actually was just working on it a few minutes ago. I am going to mount 2x2" square aluminum on the front of my windshield. It will lean backwards, but should be strong enough I think. I'll be able to pull it off by removing a couple of pins. I decided against the telescopin...

Untraditional Radar Mount

I have a 20' Fishrite Performer with a windshield and softtop (similar to a Northriver Seahawk). I use it a little in the Pacific ocean, and would like to add radar to it for collision elimination, only I don't wish to spend $1-2k on a radar arch. Furthermore, putting my boat away after use will be ...
