Titanium you say! That takes the alloy site to new level. Makes my AAB tattoo sound a bit wimpy. Speedy recovery.

Re: Radar Mount.
WOW very nice! I don't have a welder for aluminum. That keeps me from getting too dangerous. Right now the idea is two 6063 aluminum channels with their ends cut an angle ie. \_____\. The 4°down angle is the question now. 3g is shorter range radar. Using it at channel speeds, and the harbor in low v...

Radar Mount.
I will be mounting a 3g radar on the top. Looking for suggestions. To use a wedge or not, pedestal or not, to the front or the back? Any pics of your install are appreciated.

Re: Stabi taking a hit!
I've done some dumb things. Newbe mistakes. Too embarrassing to put in print. Be assured the Stabi took them much better than my pride. Just like the Pacific boats and other better alloys the Stabicraft are built more like little ships than recreational boats. I like the positive buoyancy design, bu...

Re: Stabicraft 2880 Pilot House
I feel it lives up to the hype. Its a smooth dry ride. My wife has two neck fusions. She's the one who said "get this one" after she took it over a wake at 35mph on the Washington test run. I did not realize your location is St.Pete. We now home port at Gulfport Fl city marina.

Re: Chartplotter advice needed
My experience with my Humminbird 1195 has been good. It dose not support side scan. It will be replaced by an HDS 10. I can add side scan and broadband radar. The HDS 10 supports the same Navtronics chart chip. So it should give the same chart performance as the 1195. Charting on the 1195 is fine. I...

It’s nice you came to Florida so well equipped. A fine looking boat, lots of tackle, and one bodacious

Welcome aboard. Nice rig. Tell me about the LEDs. I would like to add some under water LEDs to the back of my boat. Haven't decided yet on what to use.

Re: DSC RADIO's for 2011
Welder it looks like both your units are nmea 0183 compatible.Check around there should be some pigtails with the matching plug for your units. A few splices and some configuration on the furuno should do it. Before I went to n2k I had an 0183 pigtail for my humminbird. nmea 0183 is a common standar...

Re: DSC RADIO's for 2011
What did you find new on this welder. One great advantage of DSC is the DSC distress button. If you are feeding your radio GPS info. When the distress button is activated it will send your MMSI number and position data. This signal will repeat until it is responded to by a shore station. It's not ju...
