Re: Stellwagon Report (edit)
Hammered the haddock again Saturday.Average 30 fish per person. All nice size 24"-28" All full of eggs and/or squirting sperm all over the boat. The breed is on and I'm not sure how long it last but as long as they are bunched up like they are we are going to stay on them and fill the free...

Re: Gas tank vent
My fishing buddies and I are enjoying this boat more all the time. The curtains made a huge difference in comfort on these spring days, the trim tabs made this boat a great ride. This boat is a fishing machine, if only I could fix this problem with the vent. Meanwhile I'm going to keep posting every...

Re: Gas tank vent
The tank is plastic, so would drill easily. But I can't get inside to add a backing. could I add a vent to the fill hose?

Re: Gas tank vent
I have access to the back of the tank where the fill hole and sending unit are located. Could I add another vent line there? What would that involve? I do use an absorbent rag around the nozzle when I fill, and I can hear the change in noise to avoid overfill, I just want to be able to fill my tank ...

Re: Gas tank vent
good point, I just went out and played with it some more. I have no slack in the line and the lie runs fairly level . I don't know what else I can do. I did hear a big gush of air come out as I was filling with the 5 gallon can. maybe that was it, maybe.

Re: Gas tank vent
one vent, and I do fill as slow as the pump will allow. I don't want to disconnect the trailer at the gas station. The station I fill at is level.

Re: Gas tank vent
Yep, it's no fun but I do take the vent cap off and blow the gas out that gets in after the gusher. YUK. No restrictions in the line I can find. Why am I able to fill it with a 5 gallon can? Is it just the slower fill rate?

Gas tank vent
After 2 trips to Stellwagen I was only able to put 13 gallons in the tank before gas gushed out through the fill hole and the vent line. I know I must have burned 40 - 50 gallans on the 2 trips. I've pulled up on the vent line to make sure there was no belly in the line. I need some ideas. Any thoug...

Yep In a net under the hard top. I used the net that came with my camry. 2 back ends to the post and the 2 front ends to the holes in the hard top way at the back. works great. Added another net for rain gear etc. hanging between the 2 post

George,
You won't need to bottom paint as you will use it often enough to blast off any growth. IMHO

strap vs. cable
I hate the cable on my trailer winch and want to change to a strap. I measured the inside of my winch and it measures 2 3/4 " What size strap should I buy? will a 2" strap work OK?

Re: pacific v2325 trim tabs
Get the tabs. I went the first two seasons without the tabs and only had trouble with a head sea when conditions demanded you slow down , I couldn't stay on plane. Now in the same conditions I put down the tabs and slow down and can stay on plane. Huge difference in ride when you need it most.
