Granite State Checking In.

#1

Post by Sabs28 »

Hello Everyone,

My name is Chris. Have been a member for a few months now & figured I should probably introduce myself. I live in New Hampshire about 30 minutes from the coast. Fish the Merrimack & Piscataqua Rivers along with some local lakes. Currently have a 17' Lund Explorer SS, 90HP Mercury 4-Stroke. Looking to get a Pacific in a couple years. I gotta say this forum is full of GREAT people. Had a Motor question & was answered very quickly ( Thanks Chaps ). I think it's great that so many people get along so well & are willing to help each other ( I think we should all run for congress, HA-HA ). I am glad to be a member & hope to help in any way I can to all the good times to come. CHEERS.

Nice to see more people from the north east. How has the fishing been in the Merrimack this year, What lakes do you fish. I have not been out yet this year but usually I go out in Salem harbor or Ipswich bay and Sebago lake in ME.

Have only been down the Merrimack once so far this year & got skunked. I fish Onway Lake ( catch small mouth bass like there is no tomorrow, use a lizard or a senco). Pawtuckaway Lake ( catch small & large mouth bass, pickeral, some BIG BASS in there ). Have been trying to get out again but plans fall apart at the last minute, plans change, weather. The truck & boat are always full of gas just waiting for some use. I was outside the Salisbury Reservation boat ramp a few years ago & pulled in over 30 stripers in a few hours. Whent back a few weeks later to the same spot, cought a few dozen more. Last couple of years they just don't seem to be biting. Have a friend that tells me that him & his other friend with a boat go out & nail 20-30 fish EVERY time they go. But has yet to show me the "WAY".

welcome sabs,

This forum could easily generate "real people" to replace the suck ups in congress for sure.

Yep, this forum started because many of us were members over on THT, and like red headed step children were in constant contention with the NON ALLOY boaters giving us grief. IE: a penny in the bilge will burn a hole thru your boat!!

Les, aka: Welder and a few of us urged someone to do a alloy forum only. And Welder, needed a part-time job, so he was the man. From there it's all history. Or as I kinda think of it as, "pay-back". Having a successful forum with good members, all loving their alloy boats, WORLD-WIDE.

Welder can add the stats, but the most important thing is to keep up the support, and supporting new members.

It is soooo much easier spending other people's money, wouldn't you agree, Les?

Welcome to the forum, Sabs! A Pacific will be a huge step up from the Lund you are fishing right now. :highfive:
Spending my kids inheritance with them, one adventure at a time.

Once again fellas, THANKS for the welcome. I knew that "Congress" remark would get the pot stirring a little. At least they could wear CLOWN suits while ruining everything, at least we would get a little entertainment for our TAX DOLLAR(S). Helping spend other peoples money is fun. But when you spend your own YOU get to buy what YOU want. Love my Lund. I just don't love it in the ocean. Haven't lost any rivets yet. :highfive:

Kind of. I bought the Lund for my father & I. He used to be a saltwater warrior. It is just too rough for him now. He likes the lakes & I like the ocean. I am shooting for a V26. But I think I will look a LITTLE out of place on the small lakes around here with a monster like that. So I plan on keeping the Lund. We go out fishing after work 2-3 times a month for 3-4 hours & he is ready to go home. Still have a great time though. I just can't see selling it.

Chris, you fish with your Dad ALL YOU CAN, I wish my Dad was still here to fish with.
The 26 will fit anywhere you want to put it, heck it's only 2 foot shorter than most Bass Boats and it only weighs about 400lbs more than a 23 equipped the same way.

Thanks for the "welcome" John. I don't mind Dave at all. I think everybody being so different is what make this place so much fun. Different boats, different personalities, different opinions, it is what makes the "village".
