Hit the bank 5:00 am. we got tight 5 min. later, nice BFT on the SWC. First one broke off at the boat First time angler was pooring sweat and being amazed the fish was ( trying to pull him in!). Hooked up again within ten min., doubled up one broke off must have crossed the lines. We looked at the newby and said what do you think? He jumped at the chance, gotta say frank is one game guy ,two fights in a row. Landed 59" BFT 20 min later, was a great fight. Hooked up again ,I pulled this one in ,a Little bigger than the first one already in the bag, had a sucessful release on number 2. Bite turned off we trolled for 5 hrs until next hookup, ten min fight ,Chris horsed him in and had a sucessful release on number 3 . What a day! Call it 3 for 5 ,sushi on the boat! Clambo

What would you trade about 10lbs of bright red loin and 5lbs of toro belly meat for? I've got weapons & bullion, maybe even a local hooker connection I could put the word to . . . :D

Hey Alloy toy, we were using Shimano targa's 50's
We pulled black squid bars, green sqid bars, but no luck. All hits were on Ron-Z's down low or large sluggo's on top.Birds kicked the crap out of the sluggo's hitting them on top, damm birds! Colors were white or silver. Some poles had 80lb. test line some had 100 lb.test. Most likely last trip of season one hellava day. clambo

Clambo, a trick I was showed was to use glitter just before you put the slugs or bars in the water. Take a hand full of glitter from a box, can't buy the little pack-it kind, you need the 1lb or 5 lb box. Throw it out there and then in a few seconds the birds will dive on it then put the slugos or bars out as they dive on the glitter.

21ftcc thanks for the tip but the sluggo's were out for 10 min 60 pulls back before birds attacked. Too bad we can't use a 12 ga. that would work. See ya out there. Clambo

Jettywolf, 59" Blue fin tuna runs around 140 ,27" to 47"you can keep one, 47" to 72" you can keep one ,72" to big as hell you can keep one per year. The run for us from New Bedford is around three hours at 18 knots. 15-20 Mi. off mainland 5 mi. off P-town. If youhave never tried a BFT you have to . They fight like hell and they try real hard to pull you in with them. Clambo

always wanted to go to N.C. for them in the winter. I have a Long Liner friend that took another Guide friend up there and hooked up with the Captain of the Hatteras factory boat, I think it was. Something like that. And man, he (the Redfish guide) never realized what he got himself into.

I've heard so many varioations to this story over the years..... but somthing like a
500 pounder, he thinks they started off at around 75 pounds of drag at the rod tip, and ended up at 90 pounds. Straight off the transom to chummed monsters.

he supposedly actually did pee his pants for a moment under the strain.

I'll wear a "rain-coat" not to embarrass myself then. If I ever get to go.
But doubt it. I get to go no-where, if I wanna pay my bills.

My best tuna is 32# blackfin on a light rod, 7 miles off our beach.

Hey Jettywolf, Going down to Cocoa Beach on Nov. 6 for a few days. Know anyone in the area? I want to show them some Ron-z lures that I'm bringing down with me. I'm going to fish with a friend in the river near Vero beach but his boat is a pontoon type and can't or rather should not venture out to sea. I'm dying to show this lure as it catches everything worth catching up here, hoping someone will give me a ride to see for themselves.Tight lines, Clambo
