Late Monday report

#1

Post by capeannfisherman »

Most of you I'm sure have already read the report by Bonito Bob, my fishing partner, on one of the other sites, so I'll keep it short.
Caught and released our first tuna of the year, 66" on spinning gear. Thanks to John P. who designed the little ring that lets you use a harness while fighting a fish with spinning gear I was able to pump this fish to the boat in a reasonable time. Bob's slim beauty knot held up to a lot of pressure as we had the drag at 24# and I was also palming the reel to shorten the battle. I hate the new rules, I would have been happy to keep this fish as my one trophy. No pictures.
