Last Trip For Season

Post by AlloyToy »

Ran out on Sat with a buddy to hit the Tog grounds off Newport one last time. Bit cold in the AM but with a warm front approaching it was only going to warm as the morning went on. At the dock 7AM 21 degree air temp and 38 degree water temp in the harbor. We were escorted throughout the harbor by small harbor seals feeding all the way up into the salt pond. Quickly made our way to a rock pile. Was us and the seals  Worked through the shorts to grab a few fish. Made a quick run east where some buddies were catching. NADA :!: Called it a day and headed for the barn. Few fish for chowda  And ran some fuel additive through the system. Back to the ranch and winterized the "AlloyToy"

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving

Sad day to put the boat away for the season. This weekend is the Resurrection Derby in the San Juan Islands in Puget Sound, Wa. So far I small Salmon released. And 1 keeper stolen by a sea lion. SOB! Today and tomorrow fish. Pull the boat Sunday morning. Then I will return to my Journey. Winter mods to come.

Water temp 47degs. And the air temp is 44. A lot better than earlier this week when it was 17 for a low.

Somebody should head down and visit Dave. There is a great seafood place were he launches the boat. They'll cook up your fish or make you a killer oyster poor boy.

I can see that as a problem up here, but thought down south you guys can carry and make sure certain misbehavin' sealions don't bother you again
