SEATTLE BOAT SHOW 2013
SEATTLE BOAT SHOW 2013
I had some business in Seattle at PMI on Frid, so I skipped over to the boatshow for a few hours as I work on the ferry today and then I am off to New Orleans for a cruise on Wed..so if I was going to go Frid was it! Some pics to follow:
The biggest inside Alloy was the Armstrong. What a stout boat with the Cat hull and BIG YAMMY OB's and a 20 HP kicker with a lift.
I didn't get to the floating portion of thre show, it was a nice sunny day too...just no time..oh well!
There were some things I didn't like about the Armstrong...the insdie steering sation had great seats and a foot rest, but the way it was situated you can't stand up as there is no room for your feet/legs. The consol had all the switches right in front of the co-pilot seat (sorry I didn't get pics of this stuff to many folks inside and one was really annoying and didn't know squat about boats and thought he did..out of there!). The co-pilot's knees would have maybe tripped a switch or if he/she leaned on them could be bad results. Also I think they would be lit when on and that would be annother glow of annoyance when underway at night. Loved the hurky anchor winch and its own pump and motor. It is a day boat more than an week long trip boat, not much sleeping area and other real long trip needs...but she sure would be able to handle the conditions. If I could afford one they would be in the running. Capt PJ

PJ, Thanks buddy, for posting some pictures. What's the deal with the MONSTER anchor set up , looks like someone had issues at one time with a cheap winch.
Black Beard , we aint old Brutha, they just started manufacturing those motors again, that's a brand new boat and motor ..... WE ARE NOT OLD. WE ARE ONLY 39 , WE ARE NOT OLD.... Got it

My dads first couple of boats had that setup. Things have come a long way.Black Beard wrote:How many on here had a pulley and cable steering system on their boat? That will separate the old coots from the young'uns.
Is that "Kinematics" unit an anchor windlass????

Yup. I believe it is powered by a honda power pack. If I had Jetty's money, I would have one installed on Patience.Sabs28 wrote:My dads first couple of boats had that setup. Did anyone else check out Armstrong's pricing... I thought it was pretty aggressive.. Under $200k for the 30' monohull with twin Honda 250s and $218k for the 30' Cat with twin 225s... pretty well equipped.. +5% off at the show.

Repeat after PJay..."dis Ferry bidness has been berry, berry, good ta me".
Wow Nawleans and then off to Mehico?
That Armstrong price mentioned has to be for a boat that's bone basic. Not the one pictured?
That whole "kicker motor" setup is so damn awesome. It's so funny, you could go over to say.........THT, and never see anything like that on a "reinforced plastic resin inpregnated vessel"
Ain't it nice to be in love with hard core boats. Well, not all alloy boats are hard core. But the ones that are, sure are cool.

Re: SEATTLE BOAT SHOW 2013
Capt for what it is it is priced quite cheaply. LFS has the Pot Puller Davits closer to $1000. It is kinda close to get the pots up high enough unlike the new Scotty version. My friends that have them are happy with them. MUCH Safer than a Gas Puller. Mine is the Safe T Puller with the pressure switch that you step on to work it.
The new line coiler adaptor will be in my hands tomorrow. They ran out of them on Saturday. A new shipment will be in to Outdoor Emporium in the morning.

The 28 cat was 200ish the 30 was 220, and the 30' monohull was 198k... All with twin Hondas and well equipped. I am going tomorrow to get some clarifications, but the only two big things missing for me were windlass and hot water. I don't need an inverter.

Re: SEATTLE BOAT SHOW 2013
Didn't spec one in.
I don't know how many boats if any Armstrong sold... They had general specs with pricing that were a bit lacking in detail. I went over about 50 questions with them last night.
For instance "Galley Package" didn't specify a refrigerator.. Had a stove/sink in the spec.
The boat at the show had a price tag of $350k. I would imagine that the hydraulic system with pot puller, power pack windlass was at least $20k. The IMC kicker bracket is almost $5k alone.
