Point of departure is up for suggestions. Leaning towards Sunset ramp though. I have the Radar. So follow the pack. I will post more details as new fishing data comes up.

I have family in town from NY for the next two weekends...and have plans with them on both. After my engine service on the 31st, I will be good to go!!

If you go out of Sunset, I will meet you guys at the ramp and pull my boat out so you can see it. Also call me if you forget anything, I live right down the street.

Fleet and Greet So Cal

#5

Post by mojomizer »

Well it is time for the So. Cal. "Fleet and Greet" June 28th at Sunset Aquatic launch ramp. We will have a potluck BBQ in the afternoon and just enjoy the day. The annual sand bass run should be in gear at that time, as a fleet we should be able to locate and hold a good concentration of fish........It is a great bite for the kids and family.

Since it is potluck I will bring enough ribeye steaks (with secret sauce) to feed the group.............. If anything you gotta show up for the ribeye.

Image

Swag you gotta love swag!!!!!!!!!! Enough hats (Thanks to Pacific Boats) and other Goodies??????????? Looking into stuff for the kids.

Image

Of course a "Massive" fleet and greet picture would look so cool. Also a chance to see many different alloy boats up close and personal.

So who is in and since it is a potluck BBQ what can you bring????? (Hey if you cannot bring anything it is ok just bring your family and friends) Sign up and I will add you to the list.

Might half to trailer up the edwing and make it to that . . . uh oh, I just figured out it would cost about a $1000 in gas to get there and back. Oh well. man those steaks look good.

I'll bet we'd have a hard time pulling an alloy fest together up here in the NW even though there are tons of boats simply because they are everywhere and not a new phenom. We never get the weird questions like "is that stainless steel?"

Right Coaster here......so you can actually ignore this entire message.

BUT HOLY FREEEEKIN COW.....is that your boat-ramp :?:

Is that what a steak looks like?????? :?:

And most of all, I'm really waiting to see some photos of some fish?
Ya know those things that swim under yall's boats out there in the Pacific ocean.

I know...everyone's busy make $$ to afford those giant chunks of beef.
Save the poor COW, and your COLON, buy gasoline instead and catch a fish, I say. :?

But C'C'mon. We heard moans and groans all winter. Don't let the East Coasters beat ya up too bad.

I mean, the "cod catchers" have such a lead on ya'll it's unbelievable. And Marty ain't even posted a pic of Charlie "BIG-EYE" Tuna yet....

Okay, commence the Jettywolf beatings. But If It gets too bad I'll have Welder lock the thread on you. I can take it.

Can you?

Then, get out there and F-I-S-H.

That's where I used to launch my Robalo back in the late 70's. Lived in Orange at the time. Later kept my 31 Bertram and my 36 Pacifica across the way at Peters Landing . . . memories!

Hey Mojo - how about a brief rundown on how you do your steaks? They look fabulous.

Chaps, greetings my brethren from up north. Fly on down I am sure someone would put you up and on a boat......... To understand the ribeye you must taste the ribeye. I keep it simple but have a secret sauce?????

Captain Dave this is The "meet and greet "area of this great website, all are welcome. I wish more people would use this site to socialize....defer fuel cost..... share on the water knowledge.....travel safely in numbers...
ect. ect. yada yada yada (Sienfeld lingo for ya). Now I know there are some North Easters who have networked each other...... but yet have not seen a Aluminum Fleet pic. ( The Wolf should bark that way too.)

Super Dave great pic and directions to your home port...... I cannot thank you enough. I guess it is time to discuss the best "TIME" for everyone to meet up at the ramp.

It's time to fish!!!!!!!!

In addition to salad, I will bring a few melons or some other fresh fruits.

If I can find a watermelon with good black seeds (almost extinct) , we can have a seed spittin contest for anyone interested. BTW, I have never lost a seed spittin contest!!! Bring it!

Welcome to AAB Ray/Hard at Play. Be at the dock at Sunset Aquatic at 6:00 AM on Saturday June 28th. I will be there probably alot earlier than that. You can bring your awsome Boat :D Soft drinks and or juice. I am just thrilled you and your friend are coming.

The BBQ is going to be around 3 pm. Have your family come along too. Sunset has a park like feel to it. Fun for all.

Take care see you on Saturday.

I hope to see record threads, photos and comments.

Really, since I'm a "fish head" I can get along with boat and fish pics, and forego all seed spitting contests.

Can't wait to read and see how it all went. I have set aside 'puter time, just to read it all.

As ya'll are meeting and greeting and fishing or whatever. Just remember there's no one except one person in my whole area that appreciates the feel of an Welded Aluminum hull under his feet.
So ya'll are very lucky to have the ability to get together. I'm very jelous.

Save a cow, the earth the methane and eat a fish.....and save film, take your digital camera, and join Photobucket and post us some pictures! I can't wait.
