Wire Line
Re: Wire Line
It's not to hard to do just time consuming. I cut the wire in 100' lengths and put a 4-6" pc of 300# dacron between the lengths of 100' wire by snaking it up the middle of the dacron, then bend it 90 degrees out the side of the dacron, then do your twist. An old commercial Bass fisherman showed me that trick.....it works well, and you jig/troll with the dacron on the rod tip not the wire so it doesn't get brittle.....
What reels do you have? I have plenty of this Dacron if you want to try it.......I can send you a 3-4 foot section

Re: Wire Line
I put two stakes in the ground 100 feet apart, unroll the wire between the stakes, cut it, then wrap it around a 5 gallon pails to keep round and easy to work. To keep tension while spooling I hand my son a leather glove and have him hold tension.........he loves that i tell ya
Re: Wire Line
LOL, I bet.
I'm going to take a crack at it this week while the weather is nice. How much dacron should I use as a backer.
Also I had to think a little more, I think I have the chrome over bronze spools. Also all the rods I use for wire have roller tips.

Re: Wire Line
I use about 50 yards or so, and use more wire only because of the way the current runs around the Island.....
Re: Wire Line
I'm going to pick up some dacron tonight and try to get started.
