THE RICH ALASKANS WOULD BE PROUD OF ME.

I finally found a pair of non steel toed, low 6 inchers, "made in the USA" XTRATUFFS, AT AND AFFORDABLE PRICE :!: :!:

ON EABY, OF COURSE.

THEY'VE BEEN SENT TO CHINA SUPPOSEDLY, TO MAKE THEM CHEAPER. AND PEOPLE ARE UPSET.

I have heard that the made in china are lasting longer then the recent made in USA ones. I have blown out my last pair of made in the USA in under 6mo. I have exactaly 2 long line trips (2days ea.), 15 days of salmon trolling, and one trip of crab (3days). So that is only 22days of use.

I am not the only one with this problem, everyone I know has seen the same decline in quality over the last year or two. I use to be able to get about two years out of a pair. When I started fishing commercially hard. That use to be about 250-280days a year on the water.

I have heard that the new made in china boots are superior. HOW SAD IS THAT. :deadhorse:

Direct opposite of whats all over other forums I read.

Either way, they're way too HOT and steamy to wear here come March-April. So between these only getting minimal wear and my Royals

I should be good for winter foot wear.

Just wanted lower boots...we'll see.

Good luck. Hope the last for you. Regardless of where they are made I only hope they still grip like the old ones.

Muck boots work for me. Fine for the boat and playing in the barn yard and goat stuff. I do also have a pair of xtratufs. I saw those Dave and the slip on shoe style last week at the Seattle Workboat show

Used these for wading along in the "surf" in the winter time in the cold water (60 degree) surf casting.

Other than that my feet would burn up in them if not surrounded by chilly winter water.

I've worn a lotta crappy boots to keep my feet dry over the years.

And I have to say, the Alaskan Sneakers "xtratuffs" are the absolute best ever. :skipper:

But here's the scoop on the china boots: "An FYI"

Been having a ball in them all week long since I got them.

That's too bad that they moved to china. I sure hope that our govt is going to wake up and come up with a solution to help stop this.

I also have a pair of caulked extratufs that are over 10yrs old and still in excellent condition if that says anything about the "good old days"

Ordered another "MADE IN THE USA" pair of low rider 6 inchers, that are discounted "blems" on Ebay. Can't see what is making them a blem. But I don't want to be without in the next few winters.

So I stocked up, while prices were cheaper. And NOT chinese :!:

There's really only one Chinese thing I really dig, and that's the really good China Buffet my dad and I go to for lunch and discuss bidness.
Fishin bidness that is.

Even though they say that "all's good now", per the article I posted I stocked up..
