he cast it in the yard about 150 times yest.. in the rain so i think hes ready... gonna take him to the reefs for spades when the water warms. he'll need the force to help with his drag! til then its fresh water for us. stripers and cats beginning spawning now and the crappie bite is good. hes competitive so i'm certain when he sees a 26" striper hes gonna want a bigger reel!(wonder if penn offers star wars theme?) soo glad to see him exited about smthn besides an ipad or wii

Now that is a cool rod  and it is very cool to see your happy Son. Pictures of his fishing trip Please.

Welder I think we should turn Marty Mcmillan's Board Index topic into a "Take Your Kid/Military Fishing." Underneath in smaller print "Dedicated to the spirit of Marty Mcmillan.

Something like this.

Take Your Kid/Military Fishing.
Dedicated to the spirit of Marty Mcmillan

I think Marty would like that.

Thank you Wickedlester for sharing and reminding me of that

I used to think fishing was fun, then I took the kids fishing. Well, when they were really little it wasn't so fun, I just untangled their lines. But once they got a little bigger, lots of fun!

Nice pics, guys. So did the little guy get into any fish, Lester? Is that pup a springer?

Looks like the makings of some fish tacos, Paul.

IF...a big IF

I had kids a "son", he'd probably want nothing to do with fishing. And end up being a woman shoe salesman!
(thats my luck)

That's why I jus' take other peoples kids fishing. really "litl' kids only go 2 hrs at a time"

Here's 4 year old "Jezabell" from today's 2 hr kids trip.

She caught 25 Croakers, with help from mom & dad.

My daughter got mad at me the one time I started dip netting before she woke up and had cleaned some salmon as that was he job! My daughter gets board if she's not catching, but it seems more often than not the girls end up with the "hot" rod. Need to find the pics from this summers trip.

Nice fishing report  Always fun to see the kids having a good time.

I am sure Penn would make any reel you want, If you want to shell out the big $$$$ for it.
