More raider Projects

Added a matching Tempress hatch on aft bulkhead to allow access to the wash down pump and filter and fuel filter with an added benefit additional storage access. Placed a false floor in bilge to keep items out of the water, used good old Starboard again..get all my bits from the remnant pile at local plastic places.

Penn down-riggers came from and old Hewescraft Searunner I bought and sold after I didn't want to do the project. The mounts are the universal rail Scotty with the Penn Swivel secured to the top with spacers (white) to gain some hieght for easy cranking. These can be placed any where along the aft rail and stowed if not needed. Capt PJ

nice addons. like the storage idea. is the door in the center new as well?. Is there a pin from the mount through the rail to stop the DR from rotating?

Seen your rig on the other thread decked out. Nice

the Penn DR is mounted on a Penn Swivel head which is mounted on the Scotty universal rail mount which has two notched rail brackets and thumb screws to keep it in place. The swivel mount has 36 stops , i think so you can set it at almost any required angle to the boat and it stays put. So I guess i really am not understanding the pin idea you ask about...hope my explanation clears up the question...if not ask away! Yep, the hatch in the middle is new ...the side doors are standard. Thx for your comments. Capt PJ

I understand the swivel mount. My scottie rail mounted pole holders have slipped on the tube/pipe railing and unless you weld on a flat spot or pin/bolt it. If you hit the bottom like you do trolling for blackmouth my concern would be the penn mount will rotate on the tube. I have cranked down on the rod mounts and have they have still slipped. Previous owner mounted them there and the grooves in the alloy where there when I bought it. I have just added to the depth. :soap:

Now i see what you are saying...I went and had a look...with the way mine is set up I could drop a safety bolt down between the two white spacers and pick up the rail or maybe even a long small u bolt...got to go to Tacoma Screw and see what they can come up with. I see that the whole system could be twisted off in a really bad hang up! This way the boat would go in a circle...hehe! THX for the input and possible solution. Will post my fix as soon as i figure the best practice. Capt PJ
