This boat has been stored hull side up for well over a year under a tree.
No cleaning products I tried even began to soften and clean it. It even had a rough texture that needed to be removed.
I hope my solution to use a wire wheel was not a mistake but it was the only thing that did what I wanted.
It will be used in semi brackish to fresh water.
The question now is how to treat the (raw) aluminum?
"SharK Hide" has been suggested
For now I have a coat of Woody Wax on it.
Thank you,
Jeff

Aluminum cleaner from NAPA. What you cleaned off is the protective finish that aluminum does to itself. Still get the cleaner and some Sharkshide and follow the directions. Keep it rinsed and let it be is okay as well.

Re: Treating raw aluminum?
The reason I did not want to leave it with the "Protective coating" there is, it was so rough to the touch, trying to clean the scum line off at the end of the day would not have been easy if at all possible plus it looked like crap.
It also would have affected the WOT top speed
Thank you,
Jeff

Heh Heh Careful you may end up with this effect....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpCVrzVr97M
I am sure some people voiced their concern about leaving any wire brush material on the Aluminum hull. In the strakes or the rivet's crevices.
I was looking at some boats that had a acid etch and shark hide over it. Kind of white in color. I believe that a Australian boat thread here has it as a option.
You may want to look at Nyalic also........ http://www.nyalic.com/
That Tracker is looking nice. Thanks for sharing.
