I got a call yesterday afternoon saying my parts are ready for pickup. I dropped off 4 4' x 8' x. 160" sheets of 5052 aluminum last Friday. Today I picked up 3 trays, the 2 tops for the tanks, and along with the 2 bottoms of my new tanks.

The trays need to be trimmed to fit around the Frames so no storing rods there.
Need to cut the 3 baffles and 2 end plates. Last weekend I picked up the tank probes, fuel pickups, fuel fills,and the and bungs I need to complete them

After picking up my parts I got home and finished doing a rough cut of the cuddy roof. I located it and shimmed it up with a couple of 4 X 4 then clamped it to the House. Need to make the side plates and the front slope. Picture shows a small piece of thin diamond plate.

I dropped of two more sheets of .125" 5052 to be made into the the two fish boxes The in floor one just aft of the entry door will be 60" wide by 48" long fore and aft. The transom Bog is 56" wide and 12.5" wide. This will fit into a 14.5" area under the transom. The corners either side of the stern fish box will have 15" uncarpeted trays cut to fit.

Today I made the 4 end plates for the fuel tanks and also cut the 6 baffle plates as well.

A fellow AAB/BD Member Ken aka Flasher made the 2 decals and stopped yesterday and applied them. He and others have tried to change my Goatram handle with various names the last one is Goatkeeper. For some reason my OG name does not suit them. I use that handle on every forum I am on. No one else is weird enough to want to use it I guess.

I was in the shop with my ear plugs in and the radio turned up. He came in complaining that I was not answering my phone; creating a rukus. My responsw was phone was on the tool box plugged in and charging. He ignored me and went right to the Portside and stuck the decal on then called me over to show me. I thought it was cool.

John I understand your boat is set for now. Air rides? How is the Snugger heater doing?

Today almost got the portside fuel tank completed. Did add in the three baffles plus the water trap. Top of the tank needs one more 8' seam welded and the three bungs for pickups and a vent as well. To support the top of the tank we added 12" long angles to the three baffles. They are spaced 24" apart and do get welded to the lid. we notched the lid by 3/8"W X 5"L and then welded to the angles closed. Should start on the second one before I run off to work at 4:30pm

3 Baffles with 5 each 1.5" radius holes in the corners and in the center at the bottom.

Water trap placed in the aft bottom of the tank. If I notice water in my separator or once a year I can sump the tank to remove contamination

Outside of the tank is all TIGed up except for one seam left; 8' long to be accomplished in the morning

I was up in the bow yesterday making a pattern for the floor of the anchor locker when I noticed the dirt was everywhere.

It is a pain in the BACK SIDE to have to clean the aluminum by hand. So I made the call to put the LITTLE GIRL back on the trailer. Ted aka BV answered my call for help. He showed up at 9am. Took us awhile to reposition it and when we had it on the trailer (1130) we took it to Donna's Truck Stop to get it weighed. As it sits on the trailer bare; it comes in at 6830lbs with 1300lbs tongue weight. The trailer weight on the title shows 3100lbs trailer capacity is 18,000 lbs. Tomorrow morning I will don my rain gear and do an acid wash of the inside structure and rinse it with my pressure washer. Clean Aluminum is much better to weld. My fun begins when I get the wet vac to suck all of the cracks and crevices for water removal.

The aft head closet and bulkhead are removed. The cabin is now 8' 3" long, while the dance floor was increase to 10' 8".

Still in work on welding up the frames and other areas that need a touch or to. Should get my fish boxes in the morning. They both still the end caps welded out to be water tight.

The overhang still needs some attention to finish it. I will be trimming the points off you see in the pictures.

Both tanks were completed and Pressure checked. Both had leaks in the top coin slots that were first MIG'ed closed than were TIG'ed to finish them. The leaks were in the end puddle of the TIG. it was too thin; both had a concave depression that popped when the pressure was applied

Now it looks like it would be easier to lift the whole top for your head clearance rather than cutting out and raising the center of the roof . . .

That's what I'm talking about!!! Looks way better already John. 10' of deck space is awesome. Just do the rise in the middle of the cabin like the Hewescraft and be done with it. How much step down (if any) is there from the back deck to the cabin floor? Could you take a picture looking down on the back deck from the mezzanine?

How many rocket launchers are you going to put on her? (lot's I hope).

We will be finish welding the "T" bars and frames Saturday and then install the tanks. Till then I can't set my floor height .
I picked up the two fish boxes; one is 48"l X 60"w, the other is 12.5"l X 56"w X 12" deep that will go in the transom. Still need the end caps installed and the drain tubes and a spray bar installed in the transom one. That one will be the kill box.

So back to your request John I can't provide the requested picture yet.

Starting to collect Aluminum sheet reams. The other day I was hunting around for a scrap piece that was 24"l X 15"w, could not find one that size. Found them smaller or longer 8' long sections that were not wide enough except for the one that will go in as a center floor support in the cabin between the two tanks.

Well I wasn't going to go there but since you mentioned it the cabin sides could use some improvement both structurally and visually. Maybe modify the back pillars to give a forward slant to the aft edge of the cabin side windows or perhaps slant the entire pillar forward to match the angle at the front corner of the cabin? Or just widen the back pillars to stiffen things up and give the cabin sides a bit more load bearing capability? It needs something . . .
