Miss Eliza is back at Chaps place for her bottom to be pampered. Bob just posted a picture of the first of 7 to 9? Coats of paint.

Les she just sees what I have spent. Those blinders she has are from the old horse drawn freight wagons.

Capt when her bottom has all of her paint on. The rain might be the draw back. Bob said this Wednesday or Thursday

Update on the paint; rain delay.
SOB!
Did one mod on the boat last week that you see in two of the pictures of Port and Starboard aft corners. The vertical rail is cut off. While under way it would occasionally put up rooster tails. The Starboard side was covering thru hull pump discharges. The two aft bilge pumps and the fish box macerator. Bob is bringing up the flat black bottom paint to cover where the rail was welded on.

Would it OK with you and Chaps if I stopped up on the day your going to pick her up, if the timing is right? That way I can see the Chap's operation and your new baby. PJ

OK with me too though if it doesn't stop raining today it may push the trailer re-load into Thursday. The boat is so big the front half is sticking outside my shop and it keeps getting wet. I should have taken the time to tarp it, might have to do that anyway. Didn't realize we were in for a stretch of wet weather.

Bob posted this yesterday on BD. I am working till 11pm tonight. Setting the alarm for 5:30am to catch the 7:10 ferry out of Edmonds to Kingston. Gotta be back at the house for 1pm to go back to work for 2:30.

"This monster is done. Come and get 'er John . . . bring money & booze. Got a little Trophy to do next then I think we'll get Old Crow's Boulton in here after that."

Capt PJ hopefully you will be there.

It was a rainy day to finish the boat work and to load it on the trailer. John had me helping with the bunk adjustement...those are some thick bits of HDPE..they do the job. Also became the blast adjuster for Chaps...1/16 turn up...now one more...down 1/4 turn..up 1/8 that's it! And away he went blasting the deck. Mid morning we went to breakfast...some good grub! Back to finish and get 'er loaded so John can catch the ferry...pleasant day and fun to get to know some of the guys on this site...plus see a really nice boat..and a wonderful bottom coat job. All well done. Here are some pics.

He and Dale Bean have followed it during the build just not posting. At least that is what they said.

The Anchorlift (tm) Windlass is toast. I bought it from a Fellow Blodydecks Brotha. When the Scuppers where taking water in may the motor got wet and it is now rusted up and not working. I removed it today and ordered a new Lewmar Free Fall Pro Fish 700. I will have to replace the Chain as well. The Anchorlift used a 6mm chain link and the Lewmar uses a 7mm. Not to belabor the the replacement of your windlass...I am thinking of the Alum 900 Baracuda for my boat...and it says on the Anchorlift site the USA model uses 7mm and the Eur 6mm, but not knowing your model number it is just a guess...did you happen to get a Euro windlass, guessing?

Deviant (BD) got it somewhere. I purchased it from him. The anchor and 1/2" rode match for strength.

Tore apart the windlass. the motor works but the nut lock on the back side of the motor is frozen up. I did break the three small screws that hold the nut and lock to the backside of the motor. Screw size is around a 4 32. need to see if if I can get a replacement to repair the windlass and possible resell it with chain.

Motor works fine when hooked up to a battery charger. the nut and round lock mounts to the back of the motor and is connected to the motor by three small bolts. Two small wires connect to the motor as well

Dang Goatram,

All this time I thought ya went with Yamaha's. My mistake. I guess since the other boat had one, I had it in my head.

Wow, all I can say is, "I really didn't know we were dealing with such upper crust." Yeah, yeah, the truck was one thing. But now?????

Not sure if I belong on the same forum with such high class folk.

Don't ever come down yonder. Because you may be a tad disappointed.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Dave I am still a damned Yankee that cut his teeth racing in the limited late model div. at the defunct Thunderbowl Speedway in Valdosta Ga. I raced also at Cordelle GA and Lake City FL. I am too cheap to by new one I can make it myself. Come on up here and you will see that I am a Redneck Country Boy that would make you all proud.

My Current Job working for a Rather Large Airplane Maker as a Flightline Inspector along with my Military Retirement as a E7 Finally allows me to enjoy the new toys I have purchased. This boat has had a few great Presents giving to her and me. Defiance Boats made me a deal on the Honda motors that had 23 hours on them when they were installed. Bob helped on the Bottom Paint. Technical support and other services was provided by Cold Water Boats. ArrowCat slipped me a Inverter Charger for free. Customer wanted a new one. A lot of my friends from BD provided stuff as well either free or real good deals. Boat looks great and it is worth a few dollars but I did not pay retail for it.

Truck has a check engine light that keeps reoccurring. SOB! Time for a new one or I will chip it to delete the Emissions. The fault is in the Emissions System. I have 61300 miles on it so far in 2 years and ten months.

So last but not least I enjoy your posts as do a lot of others here. You have a Alloy Boat without a fort so you fit in here. No Worries Mate.

Cleaning up the posts. Doing some updating. The boat is now in the water at Westport in her slip for the summer. This weekend coming will be fishing her. So for the updates;
We have been having some difficulty in launching the boat from the trailer. The front rollers werenot touching the hull. Short by a couple of inches. Cut new 3/8ths" plates. sprayed them with Cold Galvanizing paint. Seem to work.

used two of the old roller mount plates to install the new bow roller. The old L Angle V with Plastic really rubbed the hull a bunch and Bob was worried that it would mar the Bottom Paint.

The Boat sitting in the water with the motors raised point straight the Boat would list to the Starboard side. The galley is on that side and it houses the Reefer, the Charger Inverter, and the Airride Seat. The fix to float the boat straight was to turn the Motors to Port. I did find out that the new sleeping bag (0 deg)I purchased at Cabelas is to warm. I need to get a new one rated for 32 degree.

For some reason the Tapatalk is not working for AAB so will be back to update this thread after I add some pictures to the BD Thread.

Need to continue the update.

The outriggers are mounted now. Dave aka Fogdocker did a great job wrapping them for me. You can see he put the name of the boat on them along with a red and green strip to Identify P and SB positions

I also had to do some more welding in the bait tank to increase the water flow. Ever other gap was welded shut on the flow side. Saturday it seamed to work well with a different increase in the flow. Jim also added two new grab handles on front and back of tank.

After launching the boat on Saturday with full fuel the boat was listing to the Starboard side. Took a few minutes to figure the why for this. My helm seat is 100lbs, charger/inverter is 100lbs, the reefer is 50lbs, all my wire and electronics are mounted to the SB side as well. These things are fixed and would be difficult to relocate. Solution to fix this was to turn the motors to port when tipped up.

Got 4 new rods for live bait from Silver Slayer. Got 4 new reels from Avet coming MXLs. Then blue Jerry Brown Braid to be installed on them. Got new/used Reliable Kill bag from a fellow BD Bro. Sold my first ice tote to Fishinlurs. Overall I spent a pile on my addiction this past weekend. SOB!

Worked on the boat Saturday. Installing toys and clearing gripes. Sunday came and even though the wind was blowing we went Salmon fishing. Had 3 takedowns and netted them. Four guys on the water. A 6 second duration with 4 to 6' seas = 2 chummers

Boat ran good with only one gripe. Fuel level was not being shown on the HDS's. Worked last week. I did update the HDS's. This could be the issue. Gotta call Lowrance. A good thing that the update did was allow the Navionics chart installed in one unit to be displayed in the others.

One more small thing to do is get my bait pump below the water line on the hull. I need to prime the tank now to the 3/4 full line to get the tank to run. Other two pumps run with out issue. The bait pump is on top of the 1.5" manifold. Need to turn the "T" fitting 90° to lower the pump.

It is the gay Kalli stye that is all the rage on the west coast. I got Goat Roped into it. Atleast the three have some cork on the butt. I used one last year that was Carbon Fiber. It still might be attached to the Speeding Bullet of an Albi heading North. Tuna Blood and Sunscreen makes for a slick butt :banghead:
