Building/rigging BLACK LAB 23HT questions

#1

Post by ctchad7 »

Hey- In the process of setting up my Black Lab 23HT...

Anyone know what would be the best prop with a Motor Suszuki 225??
How about throttle cables?? How about measuring- what length?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

I'm not good with the Suki motors but someone will be along that runs a suki.

Jay up at Blacklab Marine can tell ya what length cables you need although these boats are set up to take standerd stuff, you just need to know what transom height you have 25" or 30" .

Do you have a picture or two of your boat.

Hi Chad,
I have a feeling that Suzuki may require that motor to be fitted by a Suzi dealer in order to maintain your warranty. I have a 175 & that is the case here in Australia but I seem to recall reading something about the dealer fit in the US on THT. Could be wrong as my wife often tells me.
May be worth checking though.

Hey CH...
Did you buy that boat last Fall off a gentleman in CT? Never rigged or launched? If it was the same guy...you bought it a day after I spoke with him. He was going to send me some pictures...I was going to send him some money (I was/am 3000 miles away and you never know who is going to be honest). I called him the next day to say "Where are the pictures?"and it was gone. You got a very good deal! Good for you...post some pics so I can kick my self some more!

Yes a NEW motor with the warranty does require a dealer install, but that means you can do a lot of the work and just leave a few things disconnected for them to hook up.

Notice I said hook up and not rig.

Mount everything, run the cables and let them make the connections and adjustments.

As to the throttle /shift cables. You can not beat Teleflex X-treame cables. They truly are the cats BACK SIDE and all I will use.
