When I picked up the custom made plastic tank, I said to the builder "This is really going to suck if it breaks". Well eighteen month later I got the phone call that the tank split open. The boat was delivered to St Thomas. as a combination pump-out boat/ linehander for cruise ships. I posted some pictures when we delivered to boat. The 600 gallon plastic tank was welded under the deck of the boat. The tank manufacture made good on the tank, but I have a funny feeling that I'll see this problem again. When this tank broke I went on a mission to learn about plastic welding. Since this happen I bought an extrusion plastic welder and the crew has gotten good at welding plastic. Since than we have built two 600 gallon tanks for some 26 pump-out boat that I feel comfortable about a10 year warranty.(boats in another post ).
After cleaning out the compartment we cut off the leaning post and console. We were able to flip the console up on to the rail with out completely de-rigging the boat.
