Specmar 16' ORCA build

#1

Post by alumioforte »

Parts are all cut!
As kmorin said, this design is built like an abrams tank. Super thick materials, logical structure.
We cut this on a CNC router machine. The CAD file came with the pen marking lines on a separate layer, so the sharpie pen on the CNC makes it easy to find reference lines. We didnt have to modify any of the CAD, the G-Code was easily generated from the work done by the folks at Specmar.

Stay tuned! Layup begins shortly.

Our shop is pretty busy right now so our vendors at Dominator Welding will be updating the feed with the SPECMAR build of the ORCA 16. Stay tuned for an exciting build!

In case you guys havent heard of Dominator- they are a team of guys that left Safeboats and Kvichak and do aluminum welding and fab. We have subcontracted multiple builds to them and never had a quality issue.

Sorry been slammed and couldnt get pictures to upload properly. Here's a few pics. Fire any questions over. The white boat in the photo is a different boat we built for the Bella Catherine in AK, thought you all might like to see it.

That looks like a lot of hull packed into 16'
The motor bolt pattern is new to me, how does that work?

This one is intended primarily for anyone with general utility / commercial needs- could certainly be handy at a lodge or cabin as well. 12 degree deadrise, can be customized. Available as a kit or we build.

Interesting. Thank you! Do you have more specs/capacities that you can share on here or by DM? Or maybe make this its own post if you like. Thx.
