Re: QuadZeus
The Zeus drives have been around for a while now... or are you referring to the fact that there are 4 of them running instead of the standard 1, 2 or 3?
Much like the Volvo Penta IPS drives, I'm not a fan of anything sticking out from the BOTTOM of my hull... At least the hull is there to protect an i/o, but depending how far forward these are mounted I think they're just asking to be knocked off in the Pacific NW... ever been boating in an inland area with 10 meters or more of tidal swing twice per day? The number of sticks and logs waiting to knock a pod drive off is unfathomable. Even the big cruise ships have trouble with the flotsam fouling their pod type drives.

Boating is not a matter of life and death. It's much more important than that!

Re: QuadZeus
I believe they are for the rich and famous, as the only people really checking them out at the last Miami International boat show was women escorted in Derby hats and men blue blazers, white pants and ascots.
Royalty???

I know, right? And unless you're into cocaine (which any of us licensed captains obviously are not!) the pretty women don't even come with the boats anymore...JETTYWOLF wrote:I believe they are for the rich and famous, as the only people really checking them out at the last Miami International boat show was women escorted in Derby hats and men blue blazers, white pants and ascots.

heh heh... you just used the word "ascot.".... Does it count that I've got an "aglet?" (and now I'm bummed that Les's spell checker just rejected "aglet"...!)

The eighties down there are over Case. But that doesn't mean south Florida isn't still the snort capital...hahahaha
Aglet, ya have me on that one too.
Let me guess. It's your Grundens "souwester rain hat"........worn backwards??

Re: QuadZeus
Oops... The family side of me is responsible for that. Watch enough Disney channel with kids and you'll get to know Phineas & Ferb. They did a whole episode about "aglet"... It's the plastic thingy on the end of your shoelace that keeps it from fraying and let's the lace thread through the grommet.JETTYWOLF wrote:The eighties down there are over Case. Then again, I guess I shouldn't expect you to know that one. You've probably been wearing Rainbow Sandals for too many years!

Re: QuadZeus
Yeah....your right. No shoe laces here much. I am now, because it's a bit cooler. Kinda like Welders long pants out fishin'....haven't had real pants on for years..can't deal with the weight.
Have been to Funerals, where everyone has "Rainbow sandals" on....with long pants, though.
Mine are just Blue. And ya don't have to be ac/dc to be cool and comfortable, in the heat.
