I was listening to one of my fishing talk shows and the guest was Dan Ostrosky from Yamaha Outboards
One of the subjects that came up was making adjustments to the tie rod on twin OB installations for maximum performance and fuel economy.
He did mention that this is a big deal on the East Coast with the guys that run multiple OB's looking for that little edge
For the guys here with twins, have you tinkered with the toe in/out on your OB's?

No, or should I say... Not yet. I'm interested to hear more.

Get them as close to parallel as possible but ur on the side of toe in. If you are using a solid tie bar between the engines set the tiller arms to aim in a little. This will result in the inner engine turning more when cornering (like akerman steering for a car).

Here's the link to the fishing talk show archives page. It is show 12/12/2010, 8-9 am around 3/4 ways into the hour
BTW, if you are interested in So. Ca. fishing, this is a great radio show

After doing a google search on this, it seems that it doesn't make a real big difference either way unless you are looking for maximum performance and fuel economy
