Slide on trailers and aluminum boats
Slide on trailers and aluminum boats
Is this type of trailer ok for aluminum boats . Would their be a problem with corrosion
Re: Slide on trailers and aluminum boats
Bunk/float-on/slider-on trailers are all fine for and aluminum boat. The key is to have a plastic runner on the bunk. You don't want to have bare aluminum resting on wet carpet. It is also important that the bunks are not made of pressure treated lumber. Most PT lumber has copper in it.

Re: Slide on trailers and aluminum boats
IT'S THE ONLY KIND YOU'LL FIND IN FLORIDA...(OR THE SOUTH)
YOU SHOW UP HERE WITH A HEAVY GALV. TRAILER WITH ROLLERS AND MECHANICAL PARTS AND WE KNOW YOU JUST RELOCATED FROM, "SOME WHERE", ELSE.
ROLLS-AXLE TRAILERS USE NON PRESSURE TREATED BUNKS, ""CYPRESS"" GROWS IN THE WATER, AND IS ROT RESISTANT.
EITHER WAY YOU CAN STILL USE PLASTIC RUNNER MATERIAL SO YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO THINK TWICE, OVER THE BUNKS.

Hey guys thank for all the info , it was very helpful. I have to check if what is on the trailer, is plastic type carpet, if so I should be good to go. Or take boat off trailer an redo it. Again thanks Walter!!
