Check with Anchor Marine insurance in Seattle. Have a couple of boats through them and am very happy with them. Talk with Peter Ricks.

Are you saying it is too high???

Sure there might be insurance for $100-3000 cheaper, but I can without a doubt say the insurance you get from Geico/Progressive/Boat US wont cover you as well.

Another factor is that your navigation area is obviously the pacific ocean... Much higher risk than Lake Powell.

I think you go a very fair quote, from a reputable guy...

My 21' Northriver was insured thru BoatUS for $280 a year. Every year at the boat show I let Anchor give me a quote at the Boat Show. They always came in at $480 or there abouts.
Last year Got the New boat and BoatUS quoted at $1550 and Anchor was $1100. WTHeck. I Questioned them and it seams the Hurricane Sandy was a Big Hit($) and Insurance Companies want their Money back now :nutkick: My NR was insured at $38000 agreed Value. The New boat is Much More and I had to have it Surveyed to determine the Value. :skillet: If you can just carry the Liability and Environmental Hazard insurance then it's a lot less.

My across the street nieghbor had a total loss plus he was killed...fising out of Westport about 20 years ago in a 24' boat it was assumed that they were run down by a ship in the fog...so don't say there can't be a total loss. I think your rate is good especially since you work the bars and Pac coast.

Everyone's rate is going to be different due to value of their boat so no point in asking. Going to be comparing apples to oranges. I can't even compare my North River to my Wooldridge.
