Marlon Utility boat?

#1

Post by buck3 »

I was looking a cheap used skiff and came across a Marlon welded utility skiff for ~$5k and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

It was the SVW15 model which is 15'x80"

With a hull weight of 535lbs are they 10ga. hulls?
Looks like a good design but I have not seen them until now.
Here is a link to their site..... http://www.marlonproducts.com/jon-boat- ... p?JonID=28

Not sure, I'd guess somewhere in there though. Felt fairly solid pounding on the sides and bottom. The floor was covered so I could see any of the bracing on the hull though.

Yeah, I was there today looking at them. That is where I seen that Marlon. I also talked to chad crozier about building a skiff, but i think I would get into trouble from the wifey.

If I could stretch my budget to $6,500 I would just order one of these.

He builds some good looking skiffs.

Those Marion's are good, well built skiffs. They were built in Alaska and I thought they were all at least 3/16" bottoms. They really are/were a good skiff, I've seen some up here that I thought were the best deal around for the $
