Goatram, good reminder, I agree; but I'll need to put some points up as I usually do :sarge:

The site is a niche site, narrow focused and all the higher quality just for that reason. We're not concerned too much with airplanes, plastic boats or the price of gas; not that there's anything wrong with discussing all those items. What we get to enjoy here is a peaceful place to explore welded metal boats and with little interference- not much else!

If you are shopping for a welded boat, if you own and are maintaining a welded aluminum boat, or if you work on them or best of all (in my view!) you plan to build your own welded aluminum boat THEN... this is the place for you to find facts, experience, and reports on use of lots of alloy boats.

My opinion is that we all spend more on beer and a pizza in any given night, especially if we're hosting the guys or family outing than a little donation would amount too. So I think a donation to the site's rent and upkeep is just plain good manners. Welder took the time to "put up the barn" and "leave the light on" for us all to come and discuss these boats- I think it's the least we can do to pitch in something to pay for the heat and lights.

Thanks my take, I hope even if you're just reading the site and not using it to have a back and forth to support your learning more about welded aluminum; I hope you'll consider a donation to the cause. We're enjoying a free lunch but it's cost'n some body.

Cheers,
Kevin Morin
