Side mount rod holder suggestions?

#1

Post by icondonj »

Is there a good method for mounting rod holders (under the gunwale parallel holders) without having to drill holes through the sides of the boat for the fasteners or welding on some type mounting bracket? I've tried using 3m heavy duty double sided tape and then west system g/flex epoxy. I only get about a season out of the these methods before the adhesive works free from the sides of the boat. Thanks

I like tite-lok clamp on. Use them trolling steelhead.

I used Clickbond to mount SS studs under the gunnel to which rod racks were mounted. Added benefit is that the acrylic adhesive isolates the SS from the aluminum hull so there's no galvanic reaction.

Weldmount is similar -

I'd shoot a pic of mine but but the boat is wrapped.

Many useful applications.
