Window type??

#1

Post by Crowsridge »

Hello all,

I am rebuilding my boat into a pilot house. I'm wondering what type of windows to install? I have long side sliding windows that slant forward to match the front angle of the house. Then 3 windows across the front. The center window is actually a door that lifts up gull wing style. (hinged at the top on gas struts)

Part of me doesn't want the big rubber gasket look, or the wide aluminum trim look. Is it cost or something else that has most builders using the rubber to hold them? I sourced actual dual track in both plastic and aluminum designed for this purpose. So is there a down side?

And then the front. These are fixed. I wanted to bed them like side windows on modern cars. Recessed in the body flush mount with a slight reveal around the glass.

Thoughts would be great!

So, your doing your front windows like MetalShark does, I've touched them and they are awesome.

Wow, I had not thought of doing it that way. I need to look at that closer.
