Can Anchors?

#1

Post by skagit101 »

I've got a 98, 17 foot Wooldridge with a 50# can anchor. The lip on the anchor rubs and chews on the braid and every so often I need to cut off a section when it gets warn. I've smoothed and polished the lip but still wears there. Any type of sleeve or anything that slides in there?

Also the metal pulley has worn and developed sharp edges that chew on the rope. Any new tech of poly or something that doesn't develop that cutting edge?

Can you attach a foot or two of chain to the can then attach your rode?

No, ends up an inch or so from the pulley and then to the winch. An EZE anchor rack for the can. I ground down the lip a bit more last night and then polished it so should last a bit longer.
