Dexter is an avid outdoorsman, whether its fish or fowl he is out there enjoying the chase. Working for Patagonia’s Fly Fishing division, He spends over 150 days a year on the water. He contacted us about buying one of our new urethane foots and was gracious enough to right us a short review.

… I have been running the urethane jet foot for over 20 hours this fall with zero issues. I was skeptical at first that this product would eventually crack or offer a slight decrease in performance, but I couldn’t be more wrong. According to my gps I actually gained 2-3 mph when running wide open. I also smoked a rock while in BC on the Bulkley River and it barely left a mark. Any metal jet foot would have cracked or sheared off. I would highly recommend this product to anyone out there putting their jet foot in harms way.

Its great getting reports and pictures like this! It’s not indestructible, but it is tough and durable.

“Just wanted to drop you a note on my recent purchase of your Urethane Jet foot.

We drew a couple of Moose tags for BC and planned on Jet boating 150KM’s to our draw area.

Well the combination of low water and lots of fuel got the better of us as we made it about 140KM’s.

We touched a few times but nothing major until a water gremlin (One I didn’t see) smoked the foot while I was up on step.

We run tillers and the motor ripped from my hand and I thought I was going over. Managed to gain control back and head to the beach.

First thought is my Motor? Second my Foot! I figure we were done... Oars for us all the way down… I tilt the motor and WOW!! A couple of bent grates, a bit of stress fracture on one side, but the integrity of the unit was perfect...

Tilt it down and continue on our way. I am 100% confident that without the urethane foot we would still be floating out. Thanks for making a great product that I will never be without.”

UPDATE: Al, the owner of the Urethane Jet foot that hit the “water gremlin”, asked me what to do. I said I could ship you the grill bars and bolts to replace. He said he was coming to Seattle for a Seahawks game in a few weeks and asked if I could do it then. I asked him to ship it and I could also repair the tear, and it would be done when he came to town.

Al came by this morning and picked up his jetfoot after seeing the Seahawks win last night. He shared how the Urethane Jetfoot saved his moose hunting trip. -Glen

Yes, we finally have the Power Jet urethane feet!:) For Outboard Jets 7 5/8 and 7 7/8 impeller sizes. Urethane is tough resilient material that absorbs impacts better than traditional materials. These urethane feet have integrated fins which help with lift while getting on step, improved cornering and reduced cavitation. Urethane fins do not fold over with impact like traditional fins, but return to their original shape impact after impact.

I’m new. Has anyone tried the plastic/urathane Jet foot that come from Russia? I have heard good things, but hard to come by.
