Daddy'O , Scott, Eric and myself did the muffler delete today . :smitty:

Now my CUMMINS sounds like a truck.

Thanks for the help guys :highfive:

Geno's garage [ http://www.genosgarage.com ] has some cool stuff for Cummins and Power stroke.

If the drone gets to much just get some noise canceling ear muffs, at least it will be loud and you will be able to cope.

No it's not that bad , the resonator is still on . We just did the muffler delete and yes it sounds COOL and I can hardly hear it in the cab but I do know I have a 5.9lt Cummins on the move.

Bragger!

I don't think my truck will ever see those numbers even after I do some modifications.

You're a blessed man Lester!

My '94 'stroke will get that kind of mileage on the superslab if I keep it under 2000 rpm (about 61mph). Its a 4x with a stick, crewcab longbed. Its got a big downpipe, cat delete and a low bp muffler, edge tuner, big air intake and a raw chicken egg taped onto the go pedal so's to keep the foot pressure light. My friends with the late fords get about 16 . . . . . . what does a new dodge get?

Lester,
Are those mileage figures hand calculated or that's what the overhead computer says you're getting?

That's with whipping a pencil to it , my truck is about as about as plain as they come , no bells and whistles .

Those over head things will lie +- 2MPG most of the time from what I have seen IF not used correctly .

Keep in mind these #'s are on the open highway, around town is 16.0 to 16.4 , I barely make it to 6th gear is seems like on the way to wook then I'm down shifting [ 6.5 miles to work ] I just get to running temp before I shut it down .

I was asking about the overhead computer because I know that generally, they read higher than what you're actually getting.
My 1998.5 is getting the same mileage as yours, but with 3.53 gears and an auto trans and a FG camper top which might weigh around 300lbs. but I don't know for sure.
Drops down to 13mpg when I tow the alloy though.

I have a 2007 Ram 3500 crewcab, with the 6.7 liter. It tows and drives great and I love the exhaust brake. I usually get 17 on the hwy but managed 18 on one trip. That number is according to the computer since I'm too lazy pencil it out.

I have an '08 regular cab 4x4 2500 with the 6.7l. My overhead computer has been off +2 MPG since new (August '08). The truck is getting 15.5 to 16 (hand calculated) unloaded with mixed driving conditions. I've got just shy of 3000 miles on it now. I'm anticipating another 1 to 2 MPG increase with my next modification.

Great engine! I cannot believe the power. BTW, I was an old die hard Ford diesel (7.3l) man before I went to the 'dark side'
