Chip for the 5.9 Cummins

#1

Post by welder »

Has been ordered tonight , it's the Smarty Jr. with P.O.D. [ Power On Demand ] I'm going for Fuel economy and will try the tow mode when draging to Fl. in a few weeks.

I had to do it because Don , AKA w5it, came up last week and put his in my truck to enable the High Idle annnnnnd of course we had to see what a extra 100 HP does in a '07 5.9 cummins    :highfive:   :highfive: :highfive: :highfive:

Gentlemen , all I can say is ..............................SMOKE

I am going for the 40 HP econ mode . I'm getting 23 + on the highway right now can't wait to see if I gain some more MPG.

You're killin me! :skillet:

I'll have to wait awhile (read save my beer cans) before I can order the Smarty S67ME.

So, when do you expect to have it in hand?

I have a Quadzilla on mine, I usually run it in the 60hp mode.
Filled up today, 410 miles, 28.9 gallons, 14.1mpg. Wish I got your kind of mileage.

Welder's going motor-head on us again...... :joecool:

Have ya or do you need to do the upgrade to the exhaust system too. Some of those "systems" go hand in hand with the chips don't they?

I don't need a chip, I need a whole new towing situation!
:banghead: :banghead:
Have tired Ford, will get there sooner or later, as long as it's not too far.

A week ago it was a starter and a battery all in the same day.
-All in, before 10am....so I could FISH.

Man, I'll take that ole red chevy any day!! And I'm even a Ford kinda Guy.

Although I did have a 1949 Dodge one time I was restoring as a teenager, till a drunk driver slammed into me doing about 60MPH, T-boning me. Thank god I was in REAL STEEL, and young or I would probably be DEAD right now!
The ole Dodge was in the shape of a "V" and sold it for scrape parts, and got a 1974 CJ-5 afterwards.

Welder just needs to F-I-S-H more...that's all.

Frame up restore, then I put in a full racing suspension and then dropped in an LT1. I've been working on the interior still.

Nice ride there 21ftcc!

Les, I think Sherman got it worse than Whitesboro. I saw numerous line crews repairing line at several locations.

Looks like I lost a couple of fair sized tree limbs & a big ol pee elm. I see chainsaw use in my near future.

Dave, you happen to have any photos of that old Dodge? That would be cool to see.

see what that dang Welder started!

Yeah, I can scan a ole photog but have none in the old 'puter. She wasn't a pretty year. But she was at least gonna be clean and original....Till she was Crunched!

Damn, no wonder 21CC has a 21CC instead of a "26ST" ....he's got himself a cool Truck.

Ya'll got storms????

Us too.

On Tuesday we had 65-70 MPH winds here for hours and hours. Worse than most passing Hurricanes.
Cancelled my charter and rescheduled, then went over my Pops to do giant limb duty with me trusty SawZaw.
Just missed his house!!

Damn, "climate change". :scuba: :scuba:

I got the 40 Hp loaded and running and I'll do a MPG check with it [ 40 is economy mode].
Then I'll install the 70 HP and see what I get doing the same drives [ 70 is towing mode].
THEN COMES the 100HP with the same conditions [ 100 is performance mode].

I am using the Smarty Factory settings for now and may play with the Timing and torque settings later along with the power on demand function.

New toys what fun.
