Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
I'm sure everyone has their own system to line up your trailer and hitch ball.
I made up my own, but saw an ad for basically the same thing that I had made.

Too Cool Scott, I still think your blocks that keeps your boat draining, while washing, still on the hitch is tops.
Nice job.
Habor Freight is one of my toy stores. I was thinking a back up cam hooked up to my PSP.

I installed one of them back up cameras on my truck and YES they make my life a lot easier…. You can find them for under $100…
I've been told I need a life...I tell them hunting and fishing is my life...They tell me thats what they mean....
Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
Do you get them with night vision?
Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
Not a bad idea, but the back up lights work well

Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
I saw a camera only, for $53 with night vision.
Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
Neat idea however I would never trade it for my 12 year old son saying "keep going dad keep going, keep going BANG!!!" "Stop"!!!
Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
Did you have to buy a new tail light or just the bumper?

Once you figure out where to place the two poles, it's a solo operation

Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
I got a swift hitch. It works great. Check out the demo on youtube.

That Swift hitch is nice but pricey. I can afford a couple of tennis balls.
I like low tech. Not much to break.

If I had tennis balls on a stick. Maggie would be Teeing them up the street or flinging the stick seeing how far she could make the tennis balls fly.
My friends black lab would be chasing the truck for miles. Other than that......... low tech is good.
Or........... just stick to the crack weasel method.

Re: Lining Up Trailer To Hitch
I think I'm going to Harbor Freight this weekend that doodad will be a big help I use a stick to get close now when I have to load alone. I tried a new idea this year and it works pretty good. I mounted a small winch on the tongue of my trailer. I back close to the trailer and connect the winch to the ring the chain goes on and then you just winch the trailer to the truck. It works, its cheap, and I can do it alone, pretty Fred Flintstone but so am I.
