Ford 6.7 Liter !

#1

Post by Occams Razor »

Did not take long .....our company had its first major failure with a 6.7 L in a 450 Super Duty.

Broke top compression rings in several cylinders. Got to pull the data from the control unit and see what is up.

Was not a overfuel issue .....thinking someone took a mad dash through a big puddle .

Hi All !

Well the mill (engine) has to be replaced. Def water damage ..... not only shattered compression rings but we have bent

con rods and broken wrist pin bosses. Funny no water in the air box either but the tell tale is the clean piston tops.

Water even a dab a doo in diesels is deadly. Good news .......Big Ford is going to take care of it with 28K on it .

Must be because of so many the Co purchases.

Only problem we have seen with these engines so far is injector issues because of not changing fuel filters soon enough.

They run sweet but very complicated for a diesel. Still would take the Cummins hands down..

Goatram, please.....your list is too long. This ain't "The Hull Truth" just replace the list with annual expenditures. Even a Jackass eats more than they're worth these days.

no chaps the boy is the 6.9/7.3 guy. I was first into the dodge ram with a Cummins 5.9, I just drove the 6.7 and had to have it,

Dave My signature was and is just for you and no one else. Lately you have been an ornery old cuss. Not the Happy go Lucky that I have grown to love and respect. Good thing Spring is coming bringing Warm Weather and Calm Seas to you

10500 miles and 680 gallons of fuel in 6 months and fishing season is about to begin anew. Drove by the High Priced Korean Owned Texeco station and fuel was $4.05 a Gallon.

I just topped off tonight at $3.49 a gallon but my pencil told me I got 16.4 MPG AROUND TOWN

Love my 5.9 CTD
My truck getting a MOD done and the DIESEL POWERD FUNNY CAR there runs a 5.9 with 1100 [ Eleven Hundred ] HP and at that time was running the 1/4 mile in the 8's owner said it should be in the 6's soon , they can get either the HP down OR they can get the Torque down but were having trouble getting BOTH down on the track.
