Time to ditch the carpet and try some poly.

Ideas always welcome.

Suggest you cut a shallow notch across the bolt holes in the poly so they can drain

Ready to go. Well Chaps I opted for the displacement method instead. The first time with silicone. That did not work well. I knew it would not adhere to the poly, but the gap if left was unacceptable. So polysulfide was employed. It will not stick to the poly well either, but it will to the screw heads. If this also fails. You win holes it will be.

I did the same thing a year or so ago. Counter sunk the bolts, cut drainage. I used bolts with lock nuts as it seems anything boat related that doesn't have a lock nut on it will self-loosen.

3f8, make sure you have a VERY HEALTHY winch strap and VERY GOOD stern ties or you WILL leave your boat in the middle of the intersection or on the ramp.
