Now if they could just get a little diesel to move it. With a diesel I'm sure it would get more than 40 mpg.

I wonder what Mag Chloride or salt brine will do to alum? Our roads are pretty nasty this time of year.

I'd venture that rust won't be an issue (obviously)

What's been happening to all the Audi R8's? What about Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Aston Martin? How well are all those semi-trailers holding up after a million miles?

The alloy will likely have no more of hard time than steel. The alloy would likely be well protected similar to the way steel is protected. Under-body sealant, anti-corrosion coatings / paints etc will form a complete level of protection. After all, outboards and out-drives are all made of alloy without significant corrosion issues in way harsher environment.

Will they let us order a truck unpainted? That way it would match our boats?

I asked one of the sales guys if they could find out for me, didn't seem to interested in looking into it. The next time his vehicle is on my lift & disabled, I will ask him again & see how his attitude changes then. :sarge:

Ford does offer Silver Metallic paint. Looks pretty close to aluminum.

Dodge is offering a V6 Fiat oil burner...we'll see how that goes! Why couldn't they get the small Cummins?

Most likely could not meet CAFE standards, also Fiat owns Ram and Jeep so there is probably more profit if kept in house.
