use PWC trailer for 14 foot Valco?

I just got an awesome deal on a 1995 Valco 14 foot skiff, but with no trailer or motor.
I'm looking for a trailer, and I've seen a couple of PWC trailers on craigslist that might work for a boat this small.
Any advice about 1) whether this is just a terrible idea; and if not, how to decide if the trailer is too small (like how much is the maximum the boat should be sticking off the back and how should it balance)?
I am almost certain to end up paying more for the trailer than I paid for the boat, which came with the beach wheels and a motor stand.
