Diesel is within a whisker of $5 here in Washington, I'm predicting $6 by summers end.

I just paid $5.03 this morning for diesel...and that's the lowest in my area.
castabi, if you need to learn about your Dodge Cummins, you should check out these sites:

Too bad diesel is sooo expensive!

Welder, the pre '98.5 Cummins were 12 valve motors and all mechanical (non computer controlled) I think they use some primitive means to increase power on them such as grinding the stop on the throttle plates and such.welder wrote:Cal,
chip that cummins and throw a 4" pipe on her and she will get over 20 MPG if ya dont break 2K on the tach.
or I'll give ya $2500.00 for her like she is.
I haven't studied much on how they increase power with the 12 valves because I have a 24 valve truck. I do know that the 12 valve have a high reliability rating... and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if calstabi isn't already getting over 20 mpg running empty.
Thanks calstabi for noticing the truck
It was pampered by one of my fishing buddies between 1998 and 2006, then he bought a megacab.
The new rims (2007 dealer take-off's) did wonders on improving the looks of the truck and some nice riding Michelin tires to boot.
BTW: I paid $4.95 on Friday and $5.03 this morning at the same station. :x
