Great week.
Great crews.
Lots of Trout limits. I'm loving it. Only problem is it's been kinda "warm" for being "winter time"....Opps, not till the 21st. Sorry.
14 year old Matt, caught them so fast he's now "spoiled for life".
Ed was wiping the deck with his two buddies. Hooking fish when Scott and Robert were wishing....
But they finally caught up, some.
Again, Ed was a natural on the ole Float-rig
Sun-up on another awesome December morning. The BEST of NE Florida is always in the winter months
Kathy, from Long Island NY, and flooded out of her home from Hurricane Sandy. SHE'S HOOKED UP!
SHE WANTED A REDFISH...she didn't know it would end up being a big bull.
Kathy's brother and son in law whacked a box of Trout for dinner.

Yer in "poppin cork spinner tackle territory"....but O'OOO'-kay.
IF YOU SHOW ME, pics of how that engine guard is bolted to your boat Close up pix, of where and how so I can show the T-top guy down the street.
But so I don't have to write a book here's a few video's:
First off, my oh so educational channel:

Set-up or float-rig AKA: "slip float fishing"

TV show:
I'll also post these on the Video page, as an archive.

It skipped for me one but thats all, big video's need high speed Internet.
Yeah, you all could use the "Louisnana version", a Stopper knot then a styro-foam poppin cork that has a thru hole, then a 1/2-3/4 egg sinker atop a swivel and then a sacrificial leader and hook. Usually light mono.
BECAUSE YOU'RE USING BRAID (that floats on top of the water) and if it gets stuck, tighten line and whip that tip of yer Ugly Stick 7'6" Fairy wand rod and break the leader and re-tie and your back in action.
They have no real current, so they get away with a Jury rigged, float-rig.
See my latest report, long but trophy Trout. Up to 8 pounds. in 12' fast current at inlet.
Mine is the same as what they use in Pacwest for salmon.

Whoa, these are my "secret" floats.....Don't know if you're a member of my daily fishing reports blog. But I just uploaded a Blog readers only special Float-rigging shallow water tech tip. A way to make your float rig do double dutyand fish shallows better.
Like I said you can make it all with locally found terminal tackle like the Louisiana guys do. Or any small float round or popping. And an egg sinker on top of a swivel, as you probably won't have the need for a 2 ounce sinker or a high speed type float like mine.
But then again, ya;'ll probably use spinner tackle. It sacriligious, to use spinners and properly float rig. Bait casters only in most people's opinion. Like fly flippers, ya just can't take a spinner reel and put it on a fly rod. You could, but again "sacriligious"
