NEW Raider NEW Here!

#1

Post by pjay9 »

Hello Everyone, I have enjoyed reading all the posts and admiring the boats and the projects. I jumped into the fray with the purchase of a 2009 Raider 185 Pro Fisherman. I had a 2005 Yamaha 90 and a 2008 EzLoader trailer already, just needed a boat. There is a bit of a long story, but I am not going to tell it here! I just want to introduce myself and my boat to the group. Quick story about the 1985 15 Johnson...I bought it for another boat at the Tacoma Boat show and was going to hang it on my 1959 Larson All American 16...the transom was not wide enough so I was going to get a bracket and never did so the 15 sat in the garage for 24 years...it has maybe 3 hours on it!

Very nice! Congrads on your new fish killer. That has to be about the perfect set-up for working those Point Defiance kings.

Went up to Port Ludlow to a ramp near there last night and got up at 5 so I could catch the slack for halibut, but the little bay had whitecaps...tuned in NOAA and she was blowing on Admiralty...it would not be good fishing...so I came back home DRATS!!! Next week I am taking two weeks or so and going someplace to do some fishing...all weather dependant.

It was a good shakedown with the camper and boat in behind...need to adjust the stinger hitch and chain set up and get a different insert for the stinger. Glad i found this out now rather than away from my tools/shop.

THX all for your comments and you can bet on the blood and guts being on the decks eventually. I look forward to some good bottom fish in the fry pan. Capt PJ

Jettywolf...been looking at your posts...you are doing some good fishing and that is a nice boat to get in close. Oh yeah! I put the tank out there as the brand new old 15HP Johnnyrude is a mixer and I didn't want to use up interior space for the tank and run another long hose...been looking for a Yamajammer HT 8 HP so i can eliminate that tank and motor...no good new deals out here yet and don't seem to find a used one that has been taken care of. Good fishing to you! Capt PJ

Oh, yeah......oild mixing. Been many a full moon since I even gave that a thought.
Hmmm, people still do that. DOH! Stupid me.

I'm all about space and ballroom dancing, thats for sure. I've had 6 people standing behind my leaning post before all do'in the "let me see", while 2 do the "shark" shuffle.

I love it!
