Pacific 1925 update and new HDS7 and seating

#1

Post by MacCTD »

Got my new Lowrance HDS7 installed, works great, holds the bottom at all speeds, the insight USA has great detail on one of the lakes I use the boat on Sebago.
I also got a E-Searider, http://www.e-searider.com/ large wedge, has quickly become the favorite seat on the boat. a bit pricey but seems very well made and the "beans" are closed cell so they will not absorb water.
Next is a bimini top.
At first I was concerned the speed would be an issue on the boat but everyone seems happiest at about 20mph so the 90hp is working out well and it sips fuel, next is a bimini top.

Looks fab, I hear the HDS-7's don't like to get wet unless they've fixed that

Thanks, hopefully they fixed that issue, I had read a few people have had them leak.

Mac, you do know that , that CC is predrilled for a T-top, that's what those plates and screws are for on your center console .
It's the same one that I have on my boat in my Sig pic.

Yeah, I considered that but I would like to be able to lower the top, there is a low bridge I need to go under to get into another lake, it is a swing bridge but only 3 or 4 times a day, I can just fit under it now, have about a foot over the windshield.

Got lucky today, went out for a ride was exploring a little cove and hit a rock, make a big bang. I expected the worst as I tilted the motor up but only had a little scrape on the front edge of the skeg, no prop damage at all, 2 minute with a file and the skeg is as good as new, just had a little chip in it.

Aluminumdreamer where are you this man needs a Custom "T" Top that folds.

Lucky on the skeg. We had a couple of boats strike the sunken Jetty out in Westport Wa. this past weekend. A few bent props. The guy with the SS prop bent the shaft too.

Averaging 4.5mpg, actually thought it would be a little higher but that is mixed driving a couple tanks 28 and 35 gallons each time, both around the same mpg, the new HDS7 has a couple nice odometer features.

Mac,

That's one fine SUV ya have.

On my big SUV I have a skid plate.....and man has it saved me. It has a slight dent in it already.....(4 years, yeah like that's "already".)

Installed it straight away as soon as I got my boat. ZERO adverse effects of it being there. Just a safe like new SKEG.

Here are a few pictures, got a new steering wheel last week, put it on this weekend, don't know how I ever survived without the speed knob.

Nice boat MacCTD. We'll be fishing Groton CT - Race area Sept 23-25 if you want to come down and float some more armor. I've seen another 2025CC once down there, and what looks to be an old 19' Pacific docked next to the ramp. I've been meaning to post this photo for a while.

Great......now I have a better understanding of the 19.

Still don't know what's "IN" that box welded to the outside of the false transom/stern bulkhead? I'd say a SS fuel water seperator head unit will be needed out in the weather like that. And to this day I want to replace both deck plates with cast alloy water tight deck plates on the inside and outside.

Sure looks like they could still put in the under gunnel trays like on the large models. I'd have to have open gunnel boxes too. Don't care what they say. That's the best storage area in my boat I love it.

The Jettywolf designed do all 19 footer.....

Looks to me that they could certaily turn that false transom/stern bulkhead into a "box/bench seat" with a live-well on one side, a twin battery storage box in the middle and a fish box/storage, on the other and you could sit on it and drive a tiller model with tiller power steering http://www.enginesteer.com - watch video here.
Image
that would even lengthen the tiller a bit. a 90 HP, with no console and two seating boxes with a bit of storage under them would make a great all around inshore boat.

Two Seats like this, maybe "less luxurious".....

Salmon boat style? Maybe. But would also work great for just inshore fishing charters for 2.

Add a battery tray built into the bow deck storage area and add a Trolling motor plate up on the bow. Yep, maybe that's what I'll need when I down-size because I'll be so old.

Yes, that box on the stern is the fuel fill and vent, it has two vents, I have not checked but I wonder if one is for the fuel tank and the other is for the hull. I plan on changing the aluminum filter head this winter.
I am thinking of a seat storage area against the stern, I could use the seating and storage, not sure if I want some thing that is removable or not.

For riding the old bean bag chairs do well...and now there's even fancy cool guy bean bag chairs that are contoured, but take up gobs of room.

Usually the two vents are for front of tank and rear of tank according to Jay.

Thanks for the pix and if you get more post away.
