Interesting and different. Those windows would make it feel wide open inside I bet.

Thanks for posting the pics, Welder!

For those who are interested these represent "options" that we presented to a customer. He has a seaside house with huge windows and wanted to carry the same "feel" onto his new boat.

We discussed the boat for a long time - going back and forth between lengths of 28' and 34' x 10' and between twin outboards and a single large diesel I/O.

Finally settled on a 29' boat with twin Verado 250's and his choice of cabin. When we started to then design the boat the aft deck seemed too small and the design was extended to 31'.

Boat will have a "V" berth, shock mitigating seats ( http://www.downloads.pilotchairs.com/25.html ), Raymarine C140W w/ 1W transducer and 4kW High-Def radar, 40 gallon livewell, huge insulated fishbox.

Semi-custom boats are sort of fun. We start with our hull and work with the customer to make "their" boat!

Again, thanks Les!

Unless the boat has a generator and A/C you may want some of those windows to open.

Jay:

Do you have photos of other Rocksalt boats you have completed with a cabin similar to the drawings? How many Rocksalt boats have you completed to date? I really dig your boats!

Napa - we've only built a small handful of boats and nothing like the one pictured. As I said we have set "hulls" but design and fabricate the deck and any superstructure to the customers liking!

Dave - the boat will be living in Maine and chasing charlie the tuna. It will be available to demo with the customer who is a super nice gent who'd be happy to show off his boat!

This is sort of a take off of the SCS that you like so much. Walkround cabin with a small but effective berth in front of the pilothouse.

BTW - he chose "F" with small modifications and extended the boat another 1'6" to 31' 6". Twin outboards versus the single diesel pictured...

For those of you who might be interested in how this process works - we had an original semi-custom design and now we are refining the boat.

As I said before he chose to go with twin Verado 250's rather than the diesel solution. The aft deck space was a bit too small so we lengthened the boat by about 2'.

We determined that the side of the cabin were too "straight" up and down so added the "knuckle" to give the sides more shape, that made the height of the side windows shorter. The customer went to the NY Boat show and saw curved Taylor Made glass so we have given him the pictured options of straight glass or a curved front section.

Love to hear and comments or criticisms...

You Guys need to cut it out. I can not even afford one Dream Boat let alone Two.

That is a nice looking boat. What is the Fuel burn Estimate for the Twins and also the Diesel solution at cruise?

That looks awesome. How about a 36' boat w/12 beam, inboard diesel, that will pack around 12k lbs of iced salmon?

Love to!

The boats are semi-custom so we can design your boat with you. House, hold, fish-ability, etc...

When do we start?

The one he went with is the nicest looking IMHO. Some of the others had "way" too much window. Looks like a very nice boat Jay. Post up some build photos if you please

Troll season for king salmon opens up next friday. With the amount of kings around, i stand a fighting chance of sinking that boat. I can slush 40-60 kings in two half totes I put up front, and I slush 10 more in a cooler in the back. Heavy....

Hey, he went with twin 250s. This would give him better performance and probably better economy.

YOU DRIVE A DREAM TRUCK...........so don't go away mad, jus' drive away. And go f-i-s-h.

worried about economy isn't what a diesel truck driver does.
