A first for any power boat

#1

Post by markh2000 »

BWC, a welded aluminum jet boat manufacturer we are proud to do business with, has accomplished a first for any powerboat, they have successfully ran the last five miles of the Niagara river, from the whirl pool up to the falls. All the tour operators stop at the whirlpool and no one has ever run this last stretch of river, previously considered un-navigable. Congratulations Chris and Beau!

Okay.....all ya ever see it boats going against the currents. I was waiting to see the other way and I did.

I run monster Jetties at our inlet here in J-ville Florida, and of course the ole trick is to run right along the jetty rocks when the inlet (Over a mile long) is a soup sandwich, with big seas.

Because water and electricity is the same. Doesn't like resistance, or more like calms down along resistance. So, as I watched the prep, I had a feeling the trick if ya wanna call it that is to run the "Bank". And he did.

Yes, a brown stain ride for anyone else I'm sure not used to that.

But what I'd really like to see is a boat NOT built for that do the same thing.

How long was that boat? 28 foot maybe?

Okay,

Let's see a 28 Contender or a 28 Yellowfin "plastic" and Sooooooo high dollar for running wide open oceans at 60 MPH to the gulf stream do the same thing. Then, I would fall off my chair.

My Non-air ride chair.

Both boats were 26' twin engine boats. 6.2 liter supercharged engines. Designed to run shallow and tough enough to withstand hitting some rocks. Probably not a good place for deep V designed boats with props. Current speed was estimated at over 30 miles per hour in many places

AMM 6800, one of the best among aluminum boats. Tougher with power-packed performance. Pleased with its self draining system that keeps it driest.
