The Morning started off real nice, Coffee, nice breeze, sun finally coming out, NO RAIN.
Then the call came in.... Car on a pole.
So we drive across town and find this...

I guess this Ford Ranger had a WOOD SEEKING front bumper.

And this is what is up top [AAA477 wire] one of our main feeders, 7200/12470.

And yes we work it HOT.

Holy smokes! Time for some extra heavy duty duct tape there Les. Could you please walk us through how you change out that pole? I mean that one looks complicated. Do you drive a new one in next to it then start transferring stuff over?

After the Water, Sewer, Phone and Gas were located we set a new 50' class 3 Pole {That was fun snaking it up through everything} I had to install jumpers on the field and center phase's then cut the old jumpers [wire that makes the turn] out .Then punch a new hole 8 1/2 feet deep X 20" to set the new pole in.
That part was done today and I left our Digger truck tied off to the old pole for the night.
In the AM we will install new cross arms on the new pole then start moving the phases over to the new arms then re squeeze the perm. jumpers back in.

It's a slow process so we don't have to shut down about 1/3 of the town.
We should finish it by 5pm tomorrow. :smitty:
