New Instructor in Town

#1

Post by welder »

Well after over a year wait, lots of planing and practice I FINALLY got to make the trip to Austin to go through the Texas LTC Instructors class . Now I can teach the class here on my own range to get John Q. Public a license to carry a hand gun.
The state only does about 300 instructors a year. It's a 3 day class, two days of classroom and one day on the range. written test after day 2 [Missed one question 97%] and the 3rd day was at the DPS Tactical range to qualify, we had to shoot two guns [Revolver and Simi auto] and score a 90% or better with both guns [50 rounds each]
In the end I missed one on each of the three tests.
1] ONE question on the written
2] Revolver= 49 rounds in the 10 ring and ONE out
3] Simi= 49 rounds in the 10 ring and ONE out

Sure am glad the wait is over and I'll have my cert in my hand in a few days.
