I was surfing through a great photo blog called Cape Anne Images - http://capeannimages.blogspot.com/ - and came across this pic of a familiar North East guide:

That picture was taken as I progressed home the long way around as the Annisquam bridge went under repair for 10 days last fall. It adds an extra 40 minutes to the trip as the entire river is NO WAKE and it is strictly enforced. It makes for a long day especially when you are on the water at 0400.

Depends on the species.

I fillet all ground fish while at seas and when my charter gets to the dock they load fillets all bagged into their coolers.
Last year they required the skin must remain attached to the fillets on any ground fish that required measurement (cod haddock etc)...this is a PITA and enforced because the "inspectors" cant tell the difference between a cod and haddock fillet. I hope this is changed this year.

Last year striped bass needed to be returned to the dock whole (you could gut them)...I think Mass might be changing that this year as well.

Tuna may be cored and headed but one pectoral fin and the tail must remain attached.

I love my autopilot as I am able to due my "mate" duties on the way in.
