My son landed our first Giant Tuna of the season on Sunday on a Tiagra 30 after a 30 minute battle...nice to be young and strong!...Complete story to follow.

That is awesome! A 30 minute fight? Isn't that pretty quick for a fish that size? That is some great eating.
Spending my kids inheritance with them, one adventure at a time.

George did the fish take bars? bait, lure??? (or maybe with all the excitement in the read I missed that :rotfl: )

We were trolling a combination of artificials and bait on both 30 and 50 class rods.

Congratulations Capt.G We are all envious and proud of that accomplishment. My motto is the captain has more fun. Hunting the fish down and getting them to bite, let the young arms do the pulling. You must be so proud of your son pulling on the beast in 30 minutes, keeping the fish in prime condition. Question do you spike and core your fish. How do you do it??? The size of that fish has me babbling.
